ExtraTech 1:144 C-47 /DC-3 Dakota external detail set and air stairs

Photoetch set for Minicraft C-47 or Dakota

boxtop.jpg

The Dc-3 Dakota is an iconic aircraft, with examples still flying now. This etch kit will give your 1:144 Minicraft Dakota that extra touch, and is an extensive set that has etch parts to detail the flaps, engines and airframe.

There are parts to add detail in to the kits engines, plus parts to create surrounds for the landing lights with fine rivet detail etched in. The set has parts to replace the cross braces in the landing gear, with full Instructions on where to cut given.

The majority of the etch is taken with the flap detail, with each section of the landing flaps made up from 2 parts with very nice detail.

The instructions are double sided black and white sheet, which are very clear and easy to follow.

The set finishes with the various antenna that adorn the airframe, and a very nice set of air stairs for the aircraft. This addition and will look great with the aircraft as part of a Diorama.

Conclusion

This is a nice set that will add a lot of detail to the exterior of your C-47 / Dakota. I would think that this is best for a builder that is more experienced using photoetch, and a bending tool would be invaluble. This set can be useful in both military and Civil aircraft to add that extra detail to the aircraft.

Thanks for the review, this looks like something I will have to get for my Minicraft 1/144 DC-3 that I want to do in Air Rhodesia colours, however it will be flying so I doubt I would use much?

TBH if you are doing it as flying, drop the flaps and then you can use the bits from this. All that would be left is the air-stairs.

Looking at the instructions it shows where to cut the wings, and add the flaps.
