Dermo245 Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Hi everyone and here's my last build of 2011. It's the Revell SA-365 Dauphin - basically the ancient Matchbox kit - but reissued in red plastic with US Coast Guard decals. It's way, way off being accurate to the real thing (Dolphin) and was built for a "Search and Rescue" GB elsewhere. Largely OOB but with some added bits on the inside, the left rear window blanked off and added a rescue winch, as on the real helo. Brush painted except for the white on top of the engine pod which is from a rattlecan. Not my best build to be honest with some nasty seams visible and some of the decals were a pig The white band is translucent also which is a pity but lesson learned for the future. But happy with how it turned out and it looks about right from 4 or 5 feet away. This build wouldn't have got finished without the advice of fellow club member Sean's on a suitable paint match in the Vallejo range (and where to source it) when my efforts at mixing paints failed miserably...thanks again Sean! And on this New Year's Eve, dedicated to all those in SAR who answer the call whatever the weather. Thanks for reading and hope 2012 is good to you and yours. Best wishes, Dermot 1
ExRAF Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 I like the model and the imaginative photos a lot! You've obviously put some work into that.
ChancerUK Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Simply Lovely work. Well done on the interior, I love coast gauard subjects and you've realy done a classic kit justice.
