DaveJL
Hello all, Just wanting to know what the Tamiya range of polishing compounds are like? Can they be used for cleaning up canopies? Do they remove/smooth over abrasions caused by sanding? Cheers Dave
MiG Mongoose
I've used them to clean up canopies after progressively sanding to remove seams (I stop at P1500). I use the coarse and follow with the fine, I didn't bother with the finish. I've also used them to remove scratches, but like a fine grit sandpaper, if the scratches are too deep it won't work. That said, they are useful for polishing plastic and paintwork. HTH
Phil
I use 6000, 8000 and 12000 micromesh, followed by Tamiya finish polish, or even better Meguairs Scratch X polish. I have yet to find anything better than scratch X, although Tamiya finsh polish puts a good shine on.
