Today’s (April 20) Daily Telegraph Magazine has an intriguing offer in the ‘Travel Solutions’ page: A two night tour called ‘Magnificent Men in their flying machines’. I quote: “Discover the history of Shuttleworth Old Warden and Duxford aerodromes which are now operated by the Imperial War Museum’. Enjoy the pageantry of a historic air show and a short flight on a De Haviland DH 89 Dragon Rapide ...” . The italics are mine. I hadn’t heard that the Shuttleworth aerodrome is now operated by the IWM, and suspect that it isn’t I rather feel that the copywriter responsible for preparing the advert was confused Or ... does anyone have knowledge about Shuttleworth not generally known? So i just got a Nikon D3300 and would like to do some (very) amateur airshow photography with it. I dont really have much money to spend and accept this is hardly enough to get a decent Lense but i was wondering if either of these lenses would work: Nikon 55-200mm VR - I know 200mm isn't widely considered enough, but with a crop sensor would it be enough for airshows at Duxford and Headcorn where the planes are fairly close? Sigma 70-300mm APO - I have heard the image quality is decent but the autofocus is a bit rubbish. has anyone had any success with this lense? I have looked at the Nikkor 55-300VR but i can't afford it really, as my max is about £130. If i really can't get ANYTHING good for that i may be able to stretch it a bit. Will

Hi gang, I got to attend this years Flying Legends show on the Saturday as part of a birthday celebration. As most will already know, the weather was hot and sunny. Many will be aware that the light at Duxford can be a bit of a challenge at times, hence the heavy post-processing on a number of these snaps. I hope it does n't affect your enjoyment.
