Heinkel He 162 Salamander in RAF Service
224 Peter posted a topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
This aircraft is c/n 120072, an A2 model captured at Leek, northern Germany in mid 1945. Transported to Farnborough and allocated Air Min number 61. It was flown a number of times by Lt Cmdr E M Brown at the RAE from 7 September 1945 fatally and crashed on 9 November by Flt Lt R A Marks attempting to emulate a display by Brown. The aircraft has been extensively photographed with a couple of colour images. The kit is a 1/32 scale model released by Revell in 2004 it is well moulded, finely detailed and a pleasure to build. The model is straight from the box, with no additions or aftermarket parts, other than the RAF Markings and a fair amount of lead in the nose for which there is, fortunately, plenty of room. The paint is Vallejo Airbrush ready acrylic and was my first all sprayed model. The paint was a delight to use and made a welcome change from Humbrol enamel, which isn’t what it was 50 years ago….! The full build report is here: https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235129072-heinkel-he-162-salamander-in-raf-service/ It is a neat little thing, especially when next to the Me 163 which looks bloated in comparison!- 5 replies

I've got a bit of a 56 squadron vibe going at the moment so my entry will be Revell's ancient 1/32nd scale offering with a few after-market bits and pieces to pep things up a little. I'm not sure which specific aircraft I'm doing, still researching, but it will be from the July/August 1940 period: Grey Matters AM parts and vacuform canopy: Max

I had this languishing, partly built for ages. So I decided it needed finishing. Its a lovely kit, loads of fine details, but I added some extras, mainly in the cockpit with an Eduard etched set. The rest was from the box. I painted the model with Xtra Color enamels and used the kit's decals. image ru image hosting gif adult image image posting photo hosting sites free picture upload image hosting site over 5mb image hosting over 10mb free adult image hosting posted image imageupload Thanks for looking

Here is my Luftwaffe F-4F. I have to say I have always liked the look of the early camouflage scheme on these aircraft, far more interesting of the grey schemes. My WIP thread is here: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234956229-luftwaffe-f-4f-phantom-finished/?p=1557451 No Sidewinders fitted, yet, as I have to get some of the correct mark. The biggest chore, after getting the seemless intakes to fit, was applying the stencil data, but in the end it was worth it! I have to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Rick, Spooky 56, for all of his help and support during this build. His wealth of knowledge and encyclopaedic reference material on F-4s has proved very helpful. Thank you very much Rick! imag how to take screenshots software screenshot tool to take screen snapshot screen grab screen shot software windows 7 screen shot imagur screenshot on pc Here's a couple of shots of her alongside a Cold War stable mate: image upload screen capture windows 7 image upload no compression Thank you for looking

This is Revell's 32nd Spitfire, not the old one, but the one based on the Hasegawa's V. They released it with new Mk I wings which meant the wings had engraved panel lines, as opposed to the raised ones on the fuselage. I engraved the fuselage and just made seat padding and harness from Milliput and lead foil. Humbrol enamels were used to paint her. Thanks for looking.
