  1. Hello everyone, My latest WiP will be a model of a TACR2 fire tender in 1:35 scale. It is a 3D printed kit and is produced by Pete at PHD Designs. RNAS Yeovilton 1986 cheers, Mike
  2. This was a long but fun build. Had some setbacks with the wrong PE. Figures are not my best work. The buildlog can be found here: I really enjoyed building this kit. I learned the vallue of "less is more" Anyhow, here are the photo's. Thanks for watching. All comments, critiques, tips are more then welcome.
  3. I've decided on this kit to be the next project on the bench. ( sorry @Stef N. no StuG 😉 ) The Crusader MK.III from border model. @Bullbasket you've convinced me 😁👍 kit comes with a decent amount of sprues, some PE, a metal gunbarrel, workable tracklinks, some clear parts and a nice cutting mat. the workable tracklinks are somewhat intimidating, they are really small. here you see 4 sausage fingers and 2 very small track links. i bought 2 figures from a certain webshop in the far east. They look very good. Nice crisp detail. I think i'll only use one. So i have a spare for the next British tank ( really liking that Tamiya Comet ) Overall this looks like an interesting build. Everyone is welcome to follow, comment etc. All your time and efford is much appriciated as always. I'll keep you guys posted. Cheers! 👍👍👍
  4. Hi everyone. I think I need a change from what I usually do. This GB seems to be perfect as a return to things I haven't done in a few years. I found two models in my stash, which match the subject, both are in 1:35 scale. First is Dragon Sd.Kfz.10 Ausf.A (with PAK 38), second that's Zvezda BA-10. Dragon has "magic track" which scares me a bit (I don't think I can put it together correctly), so I chose Zvezda. It will be the second BA-10 in this GB (there is also Hobby Boss kit here). It's a kit, I bought a few years ago for a never finished kitbash project. I even glued few parts together before I abandoned it. The vast majority of parts are still in the sprues. I don't have a lot of experience with AFVs but it seems to me that it's not the best quality kit 😆 (at least compared to things I've done before). Some elements have decent detail: But many other parts are really weak. I have a lot of sanding to do. What surprised me the most was the barrel, which the designer placed in the frame of the sprue (part 10). I will have to drill the exit hole myself. The manual is black and white even in the part about painting schemes. And decals. The word ORLOVSKIE is divided into three parts for some reason (unknown for me at the moment). The kit was very cheap, so it's hard to expect more than what's in the box. Now it's time to see how this affects assembling. Cheers Wiesiek.
  5. Here he is..... the mighty Churchill MKVII. Really a fun build. You can find the buildlog over here: And here are the photo's. Comments and tips are welcome as always. Tnx to everyone who helped me along.
  6. Next on the bench. Something to take the edge off. After building the Wittmann Tiger i need a straight foreward, simple build. first look in the box and the sprues and other parts look descent. They added new figures that look a whole lot better then the old Tamiya figures. Still, i ordered some Alpine figures. If i decide to use the Tamiya ones i can use the Alpine ones on my future Valentine build. This will be nothing fancy. No aftermarket stuff, no photo reference. Just an oob to relax and enjoy myself. Feel free to tag along. Cheers!!! 👍👍👍
  7. Hello fellow modellers. I have a plan, to build a breakdown lorry for a 1960s garage; in a rural or edge of town diorama that I am constructing. Having done some searches, as to what kits could match a British breakdown lorry for this setting, this ex-WD Chevrolet CMP vehicle came up, although, this version might be better suited. source photo: @richellis I have managed to source this kit, which is by IBG Models, as it looks fairly close to the vehicle I wish to build. Obviously, there would be a fair amount of conversion work to be done here and, as I know next to nothing about vehicles, this is going to be quite a challenge. Now, for a little apology. I was so keen to get started on this that I forgot to take any startup photos. By the time I had realised, the chassis was fairly advanced in construction. I hope to provide better updates in future! I have a query, as I could do with some help with the crane unit for the back of the vehicle. Does anyone have the Emhar 1:24 scale Bedford recovery truck kit? I could do with getting measurements of the crane that comes with the kit, in order that I could scratchbuild one to 1:35 scale for this build. Can anyone help please? cheers, Mike
