that was mentioned elsewhere BUT I have seen photos of the front really heavily loaded like this... maybe not quite as bad but close enough...

finished, finito, done.... really enjoyed this build, learning all about stowage, some extra detail and scratch building....

FINISHED..... photos tonight

very nice.... I am about to start to build this for the Canadian GB (so going Canadian markings) - not sure whether to get the Black Dog resin set (or just replace the wheels???) - what colour for a Canadian vehicle?
-
matt varnish on, stowage on, tracks and rubber painted.... hope to get this finished in time (at least finished enough for me... not envisaging a heavily weathered vehicle this time)
-
stunning (as always).... looking forward to more of this
-
At the very least hope I can get the matt varnish on and the build complete, not sure I will get it fully weathered but will see
-
earth and mud tones added (Ammo range) plus tried to add in a bit more of the green (wish I had put more grass on, maybe if I build a second diorama). Meed to paint some of the stones then start on weathering the Wespe and painting the stowage elements
-
Base progressing... green was mix of NATO green and light green kahki (best I had) and earth base was equal parts desert sand, khaki and then a touch of dunkelgelb. Next stop is the enamel wash earth tones and some detail painting.... Wespe still needs to be weathered but thats how it will look (in hindsight more grass where the oil drums/boxes will go may have been better...

yeah made my own, not sure if I will do it again but have a few small storage pots so there is soil, stones, leaves and now "grass" in 4 of them

These are still VMS shaped... You soak the paper in the product and them apply it how you want .... Fold/tuck as needed

next few bits and bobs... added wheels (next up tracks and hopefully a "FINISH" -
decals on... slightly what-if, taken from various kits

oohhh thanks all... may try and make some form some garden twine (seen that done) and use the pva method outlined above

So, as I am trying to fill a gap before starting y next build (Canadian GB) I thought "why not, lets build my first base"... so I yanked out a small photo frame, added card "formers", coated in acryllic binder and then clagged AK Interactive textured mud, some stones & soil from garden... and this is how it looks.... and with Wespe placed in position.... Any tips/tricks/vidoes I could look at (follow NightShift so using him as my workflow).... so next - more stones/soil, some dry grass, some other grass (don't have a full applicator so any options?) I may even add some figures!!!!!
-
All, I am building my first diorama (well more "small base" for the Tamiya wespe, and need to add some grass, Uncle NighShift uses static grass and applicator but, as this may be the first & last base I build am not wanting to layout that cash, what alternatives are there? I don't envisage the whole base being covered, just some patches here & there - so would grass "tuft sheets" work? Anything else I can try? Also, U. NightShift paints his bases, anyone else (don't mind trying that either).....
