I find the 109K to be the most interesting from a colour perspective (Japos book is a must have if you can find a copy these days) but yeah the offerings in the the first box dont scream "build me" to me personally.

Ill be grabbing one at some stage for sure, but probably a weekend box.

Did you catch the note in the September Eduard Info about the possible new JaPo book on the 109G?

Which ones did you get? I only know of two offhand. A.M.U.R. Reaver (new release) and Cold War Studio. Just curious which is better.

I have both. A.M.U.R. Reaver is better overall due to sharper scribing. Cold War Studios has that British feel to it, half Matchbox 😉

That being said, both will do their job.

I'd consider myself to be fussy enough, but to be frank there's nothing in your list that would bother me at all. I doubt that the perfect kit of any subject will ever exist and I  suspect that anyone expecting it to will always be disappointed.....

Heh. Of course anyone is entitled to his opinion and people enjoy this hobby in their own ways.

Yet when a manufacturer shows us what they can do - the Spits, the new FWs, F4Fs and A6Ms, this 109K feels like a big letdown.

Oh well. I knew there was a reason I bought several Vector 109G-10 conversion sets when they were released.

I guess everyone has to start with an "E" variant first - Otaki, Revell, Hasegawa, AMT/Italeri.   Would be nice to see them do an M first and go backwards.  But a least there were no Photo recon P-40's so unlike the Spitfire we will see the full family of Curtiss's over the years.

    Mauve started with a N 😉

Sorry to disagree but you are wrong. If you check scalemates page for Arma Hobby's Hurricane and check the prices on several EU shops, you'll see that there's not a single shop selling it under 40€ and many sell it above 50€. Eduard Profipack releases and be bought for around 30-35€ and include the usual PE set, something that Arma's Hurricane does not.

I litterally got two for 35eur each through a registered customer joint order with free shipping for orders over 130 eur. Scalemates is not everything. Most EU shops have some sort of discount scheme for registered/regular customers. As for Eduard kits, their PE is meh and their new decals are grainy meh to the ninth power requiring purchase of masks or aftermarket decals. IMO Arma Hurri is a steal for what you get in the box.

To be honest, such work is done far more often than it may seem. During the 3D design process, errors in 'perfect plans' come to light or construction descriptions from established authors turn out to make no sense.

^this. There are no perfect plans. What there is is plethora of photos and I applaud anyone who has a go at this bird.

    Cheers,

I was corresponding with Frrom about possibility of their release of Breguet XIX.  They would love to do this but the problem is in the lack of verified and detailed documentation. So my ask to all BM forum members is: DO YOU KNOW A VERIFIED DRAWINGS of Breguet XIX (any engine variant) - if yes please offer it to Frrom... (I hope @Gilles_53 do not mind, that I am writing this...)

    Regards

Is he British? A nice way of saying no without saying no.

  8. I must find the source, but there is an interesting theory that RAF had somewhat lower quality fuel than the USAAC, therefore P-38's fared better when on the end of the US supply chain. Something to do with finely tuned engines.

I'm also having dilution problems with HATAKA, having to disassemble my entire airbrush DURING painting, since the paint dries on the tip and has the same return by the needle, reaching the trigger!!! I will no longer use this ink!

       Best whishes for all,
       Claudio

Which Hataka line? Orange, Red or Blue line?

FWIW there are 3 Arsenal Model Group 1/48th Hawker Furys left at Hannants for a penny less than £62.00 each. In the Netherlands, the Aviation Megastore has 4 versions of the Armory Flycatcher from 44 to 52 Euros, and the AMG Demon for 69 Euros. But point taken, they're not that easy to get. I'll be interested to see how the new kit pans out.

    Paul.

Cheaper to buy directly from any shop in UA.
