  1. Many thanks! Just done the deed! All the best Jim
  2. Hola, apart from the Arctic Tiger meet set at Hannants does anyone out there know of a set of 1/48 scale Spanish Hornet decals that are readily available? I didn't think it'd be this much hassle finding some when I gayley skipped out of Halifax Modellers World with my Hobby Boss F/A-18A, or am I looking in the wrong places???????????????? Cheers Jim
  3. I've been looking at a couple of how to articles in airbrush books on building your own compressor, has anyone on here had a go and successfully built their own? I'm seriously considering it but wondered if it was really worth all the hassle and indeed does it work out any cheaper as the scribes reckon? So far I've priced up a fridge motor and a fire extinguisher (for the tank) and it doesn't seem as good value as they seem to think? Cheers Jim
  4. Hi, can anyone tell me if the 1/24 Italeri and Revell Scania R500 kits are the same mouldings etc just different boxing? If not which is the best kit? The Revell version seems a lot more pricey than the Italeri. Cheers Jim
  5. Hi, This is a link to the Aircraft; http://www.yorkshireairmuseum.co.uk/collec..._info.asp?id=11 Also, this is the French officers Mess with the diorama I spoke of but sadly I can't find any online pictures on the YAM site; http://www.yorkshireairmuseum.co.uk/tour/index.asp Next time we go I'll get some pictures and post them on here, it is wonderful and really captures the mood! Jim Just discovered the second link doesn't work but on the map click on the small hut next to the control tower!
  6. You lot probably know this already but there's a whole part of the YAM at Elvington dedicated to the Free French Bomber squadrons that were stationed there including a nice lifesize mess diorama with manequins etc in French uniform, it's very good and a fitting tribute to more unsung heroes of WW2. They also have a Halifax in the hanger for you to gander at!
  7. Artie, Outstanding mate! Thanks so much, just what I needed! All the best Jim
  8. Excellent, many thanks Antoine, looks like I'm going to be spending more money! Thanks for the help. Best wishes Jim Las muchas gracias, que es brillante, gracias!
  9. I have recently become very interested in the Luftwaffe during WW2 and in particular the Spanish volunteer pilots of JG51, the "Escuadrilla Azul" or Blue Squadron, can any of you point me in the direction of any info on the subject? I'm planning a 1/48 FW-190 diorama and would particularly like to model a Spanish flown/crewed aircraft. I can't find a lot of info anywhere and wondered if any of the Luftwaffe gang could assist? Cheers Jim
  10. Stunning Sir! Shall I just send you the 48 scale Dora I bought yesterday rather than embarass myself trying to build it!
  11. Bloody ell, it's just taken me 15 minutes to get the pictures smaller................................ Anyway, yes means no and no means yes? Get it? Edited Sir, thanks for pointing that out................................Doh!
  12. When I was a spotty 17 year old AC plonk me and two mates bought a purple Mk2 Escort which we shared, now although it was a bag of *hit it had less filler than my Academy Hunter! I was warned but well you know how it is.........................anyway after a good shove together, fill, sand, fill sand, cry, fill sand we are at this stage! Still much to do but I thought it was time I actually bit the bullet and posted something other than verbal diarrheoa! Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Right, out with the filler! BTW, What's best for re-scribing the panels lines that I've obliterated? Sorry, didn't realise th piccies were that big, I'm on to it!
  13. Thanks a lot fellas, think I'll give it a go! I notice there's a German Polizei version so I might start with that. Aw ra best Jim
  14. Looks well that mate, cracking job Sir! They've got em in Halifax Modellers World for 10.99, had one in my greasy mitt this morning but bought a Canadair Mk.6 Sabre instead! I might get you one for crimbo if you're good.
  15. Those figures look effing (pardon the language) awesome mate, could you give us a how to guide? They really look the dogs. Can't wait to see the rest! Cheers Jim
  16. I'm wanting to build G-SPAO (think that's right), the EC 135 (T2) used by Strathclyde Police, I've seen a 1/32 Revell EC135 Air Zermatt rescue helo but could it be easily built as the Starthclyde T2? Also am I right in thinking the differences in EC135 spec (ie P1, T1, T2 etc) are just engine and internal bits and bobs which wouldn't affect the external appearance? I know I'd need to scratch build FLIR pods etc and find some decals but do you think it's a viable proposition? Any help greatly appreciated! Cheers Jim
  17. "Cock on mate" as they say where I live! (that's a Yorkshire compliment by the way) Looking good if you don't mind my two penneth! Jim
  18. Thanks guys, I'll avoid! Cheers Jim
  19. Ayup, I've just tried spraying thinned 50/50 Vallejo model air mixed with their own model air thinner and the result was awful, (very thin, very watery, splodgy and a gloss like finish with matt paint)! Now apart from the fact it could very well be me I noticed the paint is very watery to start with and I note that one other user on the forum states they use it fresh from the bottle un-thinned and it worked fine for them? I only went with the Vallejo model air as I used to use Vallejo game colour for figures. I use a Badger 200 and it's probably fair to point out I'm pretty new to airbrushing. Any advice greatfully received. Cheers Jim
  20. Wanting to build a Canadian Hornet in 1/72 scale and there seem to be a load of Fujimi examples about on Ebay, the question is, are they any good? Cheers Jim
  21. How-do, Can anyone point me in the direction of some decent AH-64 cockpit shots as I'm sure everythings not Anthracite and black like Mr Revell reckons? Or maybe it is? I have no idea! A quick trawl of tinterweb has drawn a blank. Help! Cheers
  22. That's good to know, I've just ordered a couple of the pilot figures and the ACES II seats myself.
  23. Just stumbled upon this via the F-16.net site, looks like some good resin bits in 1/72, especially the modern USAF aircrew figures with the HGU-55 lids! http://www.modernhobbiesllc.com/index.html See what you reckon!
  24. Can't help with the camo mate but one of those PJ Productions modern French jet jockeys would look good inside!
