  1. good evening everyone thank you for comments and likes i have now moved to the front end working around the bridge and the forward stack, but even at this stage i am moving bits of titanic as they dont appear on this hull most of the lighting is now done, i will try and get nav light to work, but doubt i will be doing any mast lights
  2. LOL - NO another month or so, i have hardly touched the PE
  3. good evening everyone thank you for comments and likes this build keeps getting ideas way above my skill levels, i now seem to have a representation of the Britannic, as a steppingstone for someone to come along and show how it should be done, perhaps thats the way the hobby is but if someone was to spend a few more coins than i wish to they could make it look quite nice things that i should have done planned electrics before the build started obtained at least one extra full deck set found a better source for the deck machinery (pumps, vents fans etc after working out how to wire the after red cross i moved midships and looked at the floodlighting of the midships cross, yet again the first attempt melted, even though the lamp had more room
  4. Thank you, and to top it all it was meant to be a 3-month build
  5. good evening everyone thank you for comments and likes the 4 sets of the after gantries are now in place, i added some extra detail on then to give them more depth the next part is lighting the 4 red crosses, this is taking me longer than anticipated, but good fun l the after-boat gantries are now in place, and im as happy as can be considering, som more platforms to go in as well as ladders as i then make my way towards the third smoke stack
  6. good evening everyone thank you for comments and likes the crane gantries arrived from Shapeways in Holland, Britannic was only fitted with 5 of the 8 sets ordered as a result of the Titanic disaster, made up in 4 pieces, base plate, the crane/jib arm and slot like all kits, they are not always suited for conversion, and a lot of artistic licence is required to make it work, its not magic, just a lot of worrying, of what people might think of my pathetic attempt to show a build in progress i have two sets of gantries in place, but the spacing between them is slightly different as there is not enough space to put everything in, also the superstructure islands are different between the two hulls however they are are now in place and hopefully staying there, im still thoroughly enjoying this, but so looking forward to getting back into wood some walkway supports are raised a bit, will be sorted Some of the extra detail, ladders and fixing points
  7. good evening, everyone thank you for comments and likes after cranes complete, used EZ line on them rather than PE moving fwd and up another difference in the layout to Titanic (yep another) the beams running fwd to aft, support the awnings i finished this rail last night, and this afternoon it was another, "not Britannic" this is why the deck is squared off slightly lighter, but i now have room for another two gantry power houses The gantries are due to arrive this week, i can then tell if the boat racks work or not, knowing me they wont
  8. good evening every one thank you for comments and likes been deck grafting, and removing some of the unwanted markings next on the lest to paint and fit sorry the boi wanted to be in the photo after davits in the Britannic position EZ lines on the cranes rather than PE
  9. good morning everyone thank you for comments and likes im still hoping to finish this build before the end of the year, im busy saving me pennies for the next project, my delay if any will be the boat gantries, i dont evem know if they will fit, all the upper superstructure has now been added, with access to power for any other lighting points that may be required. This morning the after raised deck was permanently fitted, and seams to have gone on ok, all this scratch work seams quite messy to me, working without plans, im finding quite tricky intentions are now to slowly work forward and get her complete
  10. good evening everyone thank you for comments and likes, having built up the 2nd set of racks i then had to work out how they are fitted, they appear to sit on top of two small cabins, of which i presently dont know their purpose, but they have doors, so yet again when i find out, i will let you know
  11. thank you im presently doing a bit of plastic
  12. Good evening everyone thank you so much for comments and likes as a member suggested on another forum suggested i went and ordered some more suitable, I frame (3 different sizes) and today made another attempt at the after-Boat rack (Evergreen 272 and 1mm brass wire, i am real pleased with the result whilst waiting for the strips i also did other bits like detailing the after stack been a busy couple of weeks, and i have not been doing as much on the forums as normal, like many others, we have been making life easier for ourselves and finding ways to keep ourselves warm but at the same time not restrict what we do we made the decision that during the day if possible, we would both work from my mancave, keeping that warm and comfortable would mean not having to keep the temperature up in other rooms, that has worked very well so far, however the mild weather here in the SW has helped a lot 2nd set of boat racks has been made up today, i ran out of 1mm straight brass rod and substituted it for .8 wire, which is ok but seams a lot flimsier, getting it straight was harder than thought, but once painted and in its place, it should be ok
  13. The outfit of lifeboats were due to the loss of the Titanic, i think i have to make room for 44 boats compared to 16 This rack will be rebuilt again, but this time using I section plastic strips
  14. good evening, everyone thank you for comments and likes After lifeboat rack well i am having to use the grey matter now, and possibly failing miserably without any plans, only a walkthrough i am having to interpret what i see, (not necessarily what there is to see, i have taken as few shots of the programme, and the 7 boats on each rack seem to be on at least 4 levels, mine are on three (please dont tell anyone) the racks are still slightly oversized, but too fragile to make them in scale, this has taken me two days and about 7 different versions, but for now they will do, if however the next set is better then i will come back to this for the redo shots from the walkthrough first failed version version 8 i think
  15. Good morning everyone Thank you for comments and likes after decks continued light bleed is still an issue on the after deck, i have managed to correct it in other places light bleed, is more of a major hemorrhage
  16. good morning everyone thank you for comments and likes its been a strange couple of weeks, with real life getting in the way, only doing a bit here and there, but it all kind of fell into place today, here she is as off tonight after welldeck made stronger upper structures glued to the hull and wiring extended to light them quite a lot of work is required aft, extra cabins scratched for use by the medical staff after plank sheet on, primer used to stop light bleeding waterways, metal work and railings after raised deck with also raises the after steering position pretty well everything on the after deck is scratched, but i did take the two lifeboats of the kit as i need to purchase or obtain more the supports for the after steering positions is 2mm evergreen rod, other plastic mouldings are available, the white box on the stern is the morgue still very much wip
  17. good morning Steve i look at her every day, with the rest of my collection, yes my tastes change, and i start different projects, but they all get completed my next build starting in January will be my last ever (subject to change) new kit, and will be a wooden build, Britannic will be completed first
  18. i may re-rig mine one day and put some sails on her
  19. thank you, there are some more to be done, but even I think they look ok
  20. good evening everyone thank you for comments and likes after a couple of days in the forward well deck i have gone up to the funnel deck, this is the section i added the play room to several weeks ago, windows and doors added.it looks ok the KA MK1 upgrade set adds many pumps and vents to the model, but the Britannic is very different to where they are situated, creating a lot of head scratching, so i am putting everything in the right place as if it was Titanic and then sort it out from there the kit play room added with windows and doors
  21. its been a long time since i was planking mine, its nice to see some at the start of a build, a lot of adventures lie ahead, good luck i have put my build on here, but if anyone wants to see some photos, im willing to put a complete log on
  22. this build has certainly come on a long way, since i last looked in, and i love it
