  1. The best Flanker kit ever in my opinion. Good balance between easy building and appropriate details.
  2. Thanks and yes it is the very iconic feature on all Flankers which is actually the most time consuming part of the all built!
  3. Thanks a lot, Alan! Glad to hear that which is worthy of my 5 months built.
  4. Thanks, I used some new physical method for this time! You can check my in-progress thread for more details.
  5. Thanks! Yes I really tried my best to replicate the weathered texture for my favorite plane.
  6. Thanks Duncan! We are having 5 days Labor Day holidays now, but still no where to go. Good time for modelling though! Yufei
  7. Thanks friend! Yes 1/48 scale aircraft details looks so "huge" to me after building 1/700 ship models, so I just could not miss them! Haha
  8. Thanks! This is also the reason I chose this painting scheme, because the camo is heavily faded on top surface. By the way this aircraft was rolled out in 1989 when Soviet was still there. Thanks! I spent almost one month simply on weathering.
  9. Thanks, you can find all color reference in my buiding thread. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235103573-gwh-148-su-27-flanker-b-heavy-fighter-building-record/&do=findComment&comment=4355721 Thanks friend!
  10. Extraordinary finish, especially the weathering on a silver plane is always headache for aircraft modelling, but this work replicate it perfectly. Congratulations!
  11. Some reference and nostalgic collection of Su-27, my most favourite aircraft forever! Thanks for watching, and stay tuned! Yufei
  12. Hi all Finish this aircraft on March end and finally found some time to take photos of it. Not very satisfied with the photo quality, so just very few shots. Painting scheme: Su-27P "Flanker-B" serial number: 36911027920 (means the 20th airframe of 27th batch), 689th GvIAP, Baltic Fleet, Russian Navy, Autumn 2003 Kit: Great Wall Hobby GWH L4824 1/48 Su-27 "Flanker-B" Accessories: Detail & Wonder Studio 480601 Su-27 highli detailed 3D print landing gear set Master 48113 brass static dischargers Tempmodels AL-31F exhaust nozzles This will be finalized as a diorama, so let me show you the final version of photos later one. If you are interested in the in-progress thread, you can find it here: https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235103573-gwh-148-su-27-flanker-b-heavy-fighter-building-record/ Comparison with "Red 01" in real life.
  13. During the lock down in Shanghai, I have plenty of time to keep on building other items for the diorama. This time figures are done. So what's next? It will be PAG-14 tarmac, and APA-5D starter truck! Thanks for watching and have a nice day!
  14. Itβ€˜s the D48018 set. I will build the Tamiya 1/48 F-16 to change the taste from Russian aircrafts. Actually I have not built a Tamiya kit for 20 years!
  15. Haha, hope my built is informative and helps to promote kit sales! I have been staying at home for more than 1 week since Shanghai is now lock down by local government due to Omicron pandemic here. So I have not received my Su-30SM while some folks in other China cities even finished building it...sad story but at least I have plenty time to finish this Su-27 diorama patiently. Yufei
  16. I also took some photos of Su-27 together. My photo booth is too small for this huge bird, so I just took several shots and gave up. Need to buy a bigger booth later to take the formal photos... Also took some photos of the model with some nolstalgic reference(yes I even bought a Su-27 LD from Japan which is narrated by the very famous aviation photographer Mr. Katsuhiko Tokunaga!) to bring back the good old days to those who remember like me, when Su-27 was still the cutting edge top secret of Soviet Union. Happy weekend.
  17. Seems people are not very interested in Flanker here. Or maybe because of the red star on it? Hahaha, never mind. I finishied building the accessories of the diorama, for this Su-27 in last week. Very very very tiring, but hope the final layout will worth all the effort!
  18. So, after 5 months built, the aircraft itself is finished! Still working on some small accessories for the final diorama. πŸ˜‰ Will find some time to take formal photos of the aircraft itself later. Oh by the way, when I designed this kit, I offer you to switch canopy from open and close condition any time even after you finish it. So that you can enjoy the beautiful out line and detailed cockpit, at same time! Stay tuned!
  19. The painting process for AL-31F engine exhaust nozzles. I used some resin sample from Tempmodels. There is some 3D printing trace on some padels on the master, since it was created by 3D print. But I was told the trace will not appear on formal products. Better to check before your purchase. πŸ˜‰
  20. Thank you guys for your encouragement! I believe this is kit to represent you all the detail you need, visible after building, at a well balanced level. All you need is patience, and you will find the final outcome worth every minute of your effort, not like some kit is too complicated which makes you waste your time since many "details" are invisible after finish. I use Platz micro circle cutter. The smallest diameter it can cut is around 1.5mm. Highly recommend! OK, so the final few steps! I used AK pencil to add some chipping effect to replicat the used trace.
