  1. Not 100% correct: Atlantis ONLY bought SOME tools - the bulk of the old Revell/Monogram tools have been shipped to Revell Germany e.g. to the Polish plant who is producing most of the kits for Revell (save those produced either by other manufacturers like ICM, Zvezda or those produced in South Korean or even Chinese plants). Michael
  2. Hi Michael, I asked my friend: Toxso and Revell both worked on the M 109 and the Revell tooling has NOTHING to do with the Toxso - my friend designed Revell´s M 109 and Toxso´s has been designed in HongKong. Revell concentrated on German and NATO versions Toxso on the US version Both tools are totally different Hope that answered your question! Michael
  3. Frankly spoken: I simply don´t know! I am a good friend of the M 109s designer and as far as I now, he did this kit "from Zero". But I may ask him about the origins of the M109. I even wouldn´t have realized the Toxso-origins of the 72nd NEW TOOL kits if I had not bought the SCUD B from HongKong some months ago and when Revell announced exactly this kit with exactly a copy of Toxso´s illustration, I began asking curious questions ... also about the true origins of the PT-76B, The M 109 A6 and the two German vehicles!
  4. Don´t expect too much from these re-issued Combo-kits! Simply throwing two already existing tools together, making new instructions plus decals and -hey presto!- a "new" kit! Michael
  5. Click to the link https://www.revell.de/produkte-revell/revell-3d-puzzle/ and you´ll see what to expect! A 3D iceberg for the Titanic? 😬 Their marketing simply hopes for new customers in this niche - I strongly doubt that it will work but let them make their own experiences! And maybe I am wrong! I am no expert in marketing/ad and hopefully they know what they are doing ... Michael
  6. Hi! Don´t expect such a subject to be tooled by Revell right at the moment! They have enough to do to keep the business running and new tooled kits are too much of a risk at the given moment! Maybe later? A Dornier 17Z would fill the gap between Ju 88 A and He 111 - but too "obscure" for large sales I asume! Spitfire, Mustang and Messerschmitt - these are "sellers"! We even mentioned the idea of a new tooled Junkers Ju 52 in 1:32nd scale - no reaction other than raised eyebrows in Bünde! So let´s hope for our Ukrainian friends from ICM to produce such kits! And THEN they will re-appear in Revell boxes too! Toxso from Hong Kong (producing in mainland China of course) were really good kits (like ModelCollect). I´ll do a review of their SCUD B as soon as other demanding reviews are finished. Michael
  7. A little biased - aren´t you? 😁 And you are right concerning the Landrover: A true diamond - speeking of the ease of construction: I managed to finish mine within three days (minus paint!) ready for the Revell press conference! We´ll see as soon as the test shots are ready to be shown! I´ll keep you guys updated on this!
  8. Let me answer with a translation of my own intro-text: "What I have written for the news of the 1st quarter is also true for the rest of 2020: After Hobbico´s insolvency and the taking-over by Quantum Capital Partners Revell is right at the moment in a phase of consolidation which shows in their news program: Mainly Re-Intros, Conversions of older kits and the usual co-operation with other manufacturers - but also some NEW TOOL kits. Let´s hope for some surprise-releases at Nürnberger Spielwarenmesse and for the autumn news!" Basically spoken, you are all right: The news programm for 2020 is dull and even the new cars (Jaguar, VW Type 2) are either "Easy Click" oder Level 3-kits! And the new 72nd military items are obviuosly from Toxso and not real new tools! But they have to make money and feed their employees and in the end their new investor has NOTHING to do with modelling: Quantum is buying and selling enterprises, no matter what they produce! Simply click to the link in my intro to see their business profile! Wishing you a most wonderful modelling year and looking forward to see some of you at Nürnberg MIchael
  9. "Deceitful" would not be my words, Allan, but I fully do understand what you want to say! Believe me: I am a critic when it comes to certain marketing decisions, and although I am visiting them on a monthly basis and we discuss a lot of "customer related" subjects I seldom get heard, let alone understood! But I will definitely forward your comment (without naming you of course!) to the marketing dept. Michael
  10. Nor am I - so let´s hope they know what they´re doing! And, by the way: The customer they are aiming at with this Level 3 Mrija is NOT an expert in modelling so he/she might even not know about the Level 5 Mrija and the price they ask for this one! The "occasional modeller" (Level 3) is not the one to buy online - mainly WH Smith or whatever store has some "plastic toys" is where they are "hunting" for the occasional kit. Michael
  11. Robert: "72nd military" should read: AFV - tanks to be precise ... sorry for that! PaulH.: Aston Martin: No way due to licence-problems! Another Landy-version? Not yet planned, but possible! Albeback (funny name, by the way! Greetings to Arnold 😁) NOT ifyou look at it from he marketing and sales point-of-view: The "new" Mrija is, due to less parts, a Level 3 kit, whereas the old Mrija was Level 5. The marketing simply hopes for more sales due to less complicated construction - maybe for displays or those among us with lesser abilities in modelling. The price, on the other hand, is ... hmmmm...🤨 Jay: No direct ties between HELLER Germany and Revell - the Revell online-shop simply includes whatever possible to broaden the possibility of selling kits directly! Hope I helped clearing some fogs! Michael
  12. Paul: Exactly: A much "minimized" interior minus undercarriage! And the price will be ... in the 80 Euros range!😬 Sorry for these news! As for the Raven: Jay, of course Revell Germany now owns (nearly but not) all molds from Revell USA/Monogram! And me personally I would have expected the old but venerable Monogram-Raven; surprise, surprise that they chose a co-operation with Italeri! As for the clamor about the missing new mold kits: You are absolutely right about that, but don´t forget: Revell-Germany now has a new owner after the bankruptcy (ooh, strange word that is!) of Hobbico (it´s former owner!) and the new investor is interested in "making money": So the logic behind is clear: it is much cheaper to re-issue old kits or co-operate with ICM, Zvezda and Italeri than to develop new kits out of expensive new molds! And trust me: At least in the 24th auto scale you will get two-and-a-half "new tool" kits from May onwards! And in 72nd military you can expect 2 "new tool" kits too! And let´s all hope for Nuremberg Toy Fair - maybe a surprise-announcement will al delight us! I´ll keep you informed! Michael
  13. Hi Jay! The guys from IPMS Deutschland attended exactly the same Press Conference last Thursday than I did! And the ProductDevelopment clearly stated: Co-operation with Italeri! I also thought it will be Monogramm, but after I asked about the origins they told us: Italeri! And here´s the official Revell press release text for this product: "04974 EF-111A Raven, 1:72 The EF-111A Raven is a swing wing heavy combat aircraft used for electronic warfare among others during Operation Desert Storm. Its task was to disrupt the enemy's radar and thereby limit his tactical ability. The aircraft did not carry any weapons and relied only on its acceleration and top speed in aerial combat. Sales Points: · New construction kit mould (Italeri) · Moveable swing wings A construction kit for the advanced modeller with many decal versions Level 4 Basis: Co-operation" So it´s Italeri! Michael
  14. Academy armour? The only armour-kits (to be revealed so far!) in 35th scale is the Sd.Kfz. 251 (ex ICM). Or are you referring to the Kiowa? Michael
  15. A bit late (in terms of "news", but here we go: Revells new kits January to April 2020 with pictures and additional infos: http://www.kitreviewsonline.de/revell-neuheiten-januar-april-2020/ And yes: Ju 88 A.1 is a conversion of Revells 72nd scale A-4 version! Michael
  16. Hi Caerbannog, trust me - it´s Wave/Hand&Head. Why? 1. The Squadron kit has only been released in spring 2017 2. It costs (at least in Germany) from 75 to 99 Euros 3. The Wave/Hand&Head kit has been around since 2014 3a Since then it has been lying on one of the shelves in Revell´s product development dept. 4. It cost around 50 Euros - Revells kit will be sold in Germany for 49,99 Euros 5. The (provisional) boxart is exactly the Wave/Hand&Head boxart! So trust me: Wave/Hand&Head! Although I must confess that I have not seen the sprues of the Revell offering... Michael
  17. Hi Gavin and Cardiff Boy, the 72nd Catalina is NOT officially listed by Revell Germany and has also NOT been announced during last November´s press conference! So officially it´s a "NO" - officially! But trust me: Hannants do have the new items list for the trade and they need to have it in advance to order their stocks ... need to say more? The OV-10A Bronco is a re-pop of Academy - so who knows what else will be re-released in the near future? maybe a Flying boat? who knows... Michael (sorry for not being more precise)
  18. No! Sorry to say so, but the Haunebu will be the Wave / Hand & Heads kit from 2014! Michael
  19. Hi all out there, wishing you a happy new and prosperous (modelling) year! I would like to state two things (for now ): 1. OV-10A Bronco is a repop of the Academy kit 2. Mirage IIIE is a reboxed Italeri kit. As the author of the news-article ( http://www.kitreviewsonline.de/revell-neuheiten-2018/ ) I will comment anything you have questions about! At least, as far as I am able to - of course! The Revell-program as listed above is for quarters II to IV - but you van never be sure if there are some surprise items for Nürnberg Toy Fair! i will keep you updated directly from the Toy Fair. As for the starWars/Star Trek items: Of course there will be new kits ... but since Disney is veeery obesessed about the secrecy of any information Revell also has to be veery cautious in annoncing any information about new kits! As soon as new information is available for press-release, I will also update the modelling community - promised! Michael
  20. Hi Rich, absolutely right - EDUARD tooling re-boxed by Revell! BUT: Both will appear as single kits! I am sorry for combining the potos and leading the reader into a wrong direction! Michael
  21. Hi Caerbannog, rest assured: This is the complete list for the first quarter of 2018 (minus the "surprise items for Nüznberg in February!) I am pretty sure I haven´t missed an item! For the Beau in Quarterscale - simply wait! Michael
  22. Salut Sofieanne, 1:144 aircraft? Definitely! And a "big" surprise too ...
