A King Air, just now, grey below, white on top, no obvious markings, but a cheatline going up the tail like the RAF ones, did a couple of circuits then went westwards. Not showing on FR

Good spot. Can't help on the planes. I like those Don Coffey videos, I'm old enough to remember sitting up the front of DMUs and the Glasgow Blue Trains where you could see over the driver's shoulders, unless he was a grump and dropped the blinds!

According to FR there was a BA London - Edinburgh flight over this morning, one of the very few contrails seen, does that not count? Some very noisy military flying, couldn't see what it was though

Just had a fairly low flying A400 heading Lincolnwards. Funny noise made me go out and look and it didn't seem to be in the landing pattern for EMA, but following the Trent.

Hi, according to my copy of War Planes of the First World War, Fighters Vol 3, the Anzanis were radials, not rotaries, so there might be more choices available for you to use.

Amazing dexterity to fold those up, I guess your eyes need a good rest now.
I always thought that the multiple Pom-Poms were the wonder weapons that helped the RN win in the Med as I stuck them on the various Airfix ships back in the sixties, was that just good PR?

They look like something to hook the seats up on, rather than belt anchorages, is that not a seat hanging from the raised set next to the window?

Very nice painting going on here. Going back to the Chivenor pics, I can't see any comments, but are the ailerons painted white in the flying example, then the whole wing overpainted (as well as the rounded) in the first picture of the taxying one?

I only found out about my uncle's (Stoker, RN) run in with the First Lieutenant (RNVR) of the Porpoise over setting the submarine's ballast for fresh water as they moored at Dundee, when he was in his nineties. We had taken them to the Discovery in Dundee, so it must have set off some memories and I overheard him telling my mother 'I told the First Lieutenat where to stick his medal' and it all came out. Apparently the Captain backed George, so the 1st Lieut was at daggers drawn for the rest of their time together. When Porpoise sailed off to the Far East on its last voyage, he got taken by the Captain to his new P boat, is that a pierhead jump? so had survivor's guilt over all his mates who were lost. He said he regretted not taking the medal home for his father. These things were never discussed in front of small boys.

Sorry to contradict you Tony, but its Palaeontology, it touches a nerve caused by years of turning up to farms and explaining that we are the geological survey and would like to take rock/soil/stream pan samples and being told about the local Roman fort up the road.....
Nice 'belemnites' though, I can send you a couple if you want to do a comparison plunge mould?

Nice build with that unusual finish. I think I went aboard her at a Rosyth Navy Day, when she was quite new, sometime last century!

Nice quick build. I may have missed this in other builds before, but the nose cannons seem to have been covered and then doped with a dark colour, is this red dope?
