  1. Just a bit of an update on the situation. To cover all bases I've emailed Hannants (where I bought the kit), the hobby co and also dragon care. The only response I've had has been from dragon. There has been a few exchanged emails, the language barrier clearly causing some issues, but they have said they will send out a new sprue and that I should receive it in 1-2 weeks. Fingers crossed they send out the correct sprue!
  2. I think according to the instructions on my model, one part should be the complete ball section, then the other is the barrel that looks like it just pushes into the hole. I can't quite know for sure as I don't have the right bits 😢
  3. Hi jack, thanks for posting those two parts trees, I can see exactly what has happened now. I have sprue M from kit 6358. I am 100% certain on that. Looks like I'll have to take it up with dragon then. Or would The Hobby Company be able to help as they're the distributors here in the UK? out of interest jack, can I ask where you got those parts tree diagrams from? thanks so much for posting them, they've been a big help.
  4. Hi mike, I don't think returning the kit to the shop is an option as I've already made the wheels and back plate etc. I'm a bit confused as to what parts to request though. How do I contact dragon? Have things improved with their customer service recently? I heard a couple of years back that it was a nightmare getting parts?
  5. Also in my instructions there is no sub assembly diagram of the MG like the picture on your instructions.
  6. Hi jack, thanks for the reply. I definitely don't have a J sprue, but looking at your instructions they are the parts I need. The only parts I have are M25 and M26. Looking at my sprue layout on the front page of the instructions, the sprue M I have looks different to the one pictured. The one that is pictured has half of the MG ball moulded into the front armour plate, whereas the one included in my kit just has a round hole in it the same as the one pictured in your instructions. Could this have been a cock up at the factory?
  7. Hi folks. I need help with regards to the Drangon 1/35 Panther A late type, kit no. 6168. It’s to do with the hull mounted MG. The instructions call these parts M25 and M26, and the image shows the ball and MG, however the parts on the sprues don’t match the image. I actually can’t find an MG on any of the sprues at all, even the overview of the contents does not match what I have in the box for those parts. Anyone else had this problem? Not really sure what to do now as it’s going to look daft with an empty MG ball on the hull?
  8. I have the tamiya 1/48 FRS.1 sea harrier and from what I've read the general consensus is that it's crap. I'm going to build it anyway as it was kindly given to me as a gift. My question is, what aftermarket goodies are available for this kit? If there are that many errors with it I'm sure there are plenty choices out there? I did a brief search and the only thing I could really find was the flightpath detail set. Is this worth getting? I did find other bits and pieces but these were aimed at other frs.1 kits and not the tamiya, such as the neomega resin cockpit and pavla nozzles, ejector seats, pylons etc. would it take much work to fit these parts even though they weren't designed for the tamiya kit? Lastly is there a "dark sea grey" paint out there I can use instead of mixing tamiya paints as suggested in the instructions? Thanks as always for any help.
  9. Hi guys. For my next project I've decided to model various aircraft that featured in operation desert storm. I'm looking for your opinions of what the best kits are for the aircraft I fancy building. Scale needs to be 1/48 (I had to compromise with the missus as she complained that I have 1/32 planes taking over the house. I think her exact words were "I feel like I'm living in a bloody hanger!") Anyway I'll list the aircraft and please feel free to give your opinion. The list is as follows; A-6E Intruder A-7E Corsair A-10A Thunderbolt AV-8B Harrier EA-6B Prowler F-4E/G Phantom F-14A Tomcat F-15C/D Eagle F-15E Strike Eagle F-16A/C Fighting Falcon F-18A/C/D Hornet F-111E/F Aardvark OV-10 Bronco S-3B Viking Jaguar Gr.1 Tornado Gr.1/F.3 Buccaneer S.2B Quite a list! But any input will be greatly received. Thanks in advance.
  10. Hi. Can anybody tell me what ordinance is included in the tamiya f-15e bunker buster kit please? Kit number 60312. Cheers.
  11. We'll I've given up. The instructions are so bad and the diagrams are so vague that I just simply don't understand how the majority of these parts fit. It's such a shame as the parts look fantastic but unfortunately I'm just sitting staring at a pile of brass getting frustrated and not making any progress with the kit.
  12. Ok so I've started to build this beast and I've bought the flightpath detail set to go with it. The parts look fantastic and should add a great deal to this model when it's finished. The trouble is I really don't understand the instructions for various parts of it. I was hoping I could use this thread to post problems I come across while building to hopefully get pointed in the right direction. The first problem I've got is adding the cockpit seat inlays. I've cut the headrest off and mounted it on the brass backing re attached it to the seat no problem, but the inlay that goes on the seat has me baffled. If I fit it as per the instructions the inlay sticks up past the top of the seat, which obviously isn't right. Am I supposed to fold the bottom section of the inlay so it goes over the actual seat cushion? If I do that the inlay is the right height but it just looks wrong as well. Please help it's driving me mad! Cheers.
  13. Wow thanks for the info guys, that throws up some interesting ideas. Sounds like "if it fits it can go". I was thinking of maybe loading supacat jackals, would they fit? If I'm reading the spec correct the cargo bay is 40ft long, and a jackal is 17ft 8in long. So technically two jackals would fit but would there be enough room once they've been chained down etc? I don't know if this load has ever occured, possibly delivering them to Afghanistan?
  14. Hi. I've just got hold of the Italeri 1:48 kit of the C-130J Hercules and I'm going to finish it as an RAF bird. I thought it might be cool as a diorama to have some vehicles driving into the cargo hold. My question is what vehicles, and how many, if any, can fit into the hold? My guess is maybe just land rovers but just thought I'd check to see if this is true and or if any other types fit. Cheers in advance.
