  1. Hi guys thanks for looking . Hi there HOUSTON yeah having a few probs but nothing that can't be sorted . I 've decided not to do Franz Von Werra's 109 .... that's for another 109 E-4 I have in the stash ( cyberhobby ) as for this one I'm thinking Gerhard Schopfel yellow 1 9./JG 26 or Walter Oesau white 13 3./JG 51.
  2. Here are the pilots I may use to go with the 109 . Not sure yet wot marking Iam doing for the 109 but I am toying with the idea of Franz Xavier Von Werra's E-4 when he crash landed . My inspiration comes from the film " The One That Got Away " This is quite daunting for me as I have never built large scale before so please bear with me and please if there are any mistakes then please advise . I thank you in advance . The fuselage halves I sprayed first in flat black and left it to dry for a few hours , then I sprayed RLM02 when that was dry I sprayed a thin coat of Pledge ( Johnsons ) .... then gave it a liberal wash of very thinned Raw Umber oil paint then wiped away the excess with cotton buds. Really brings out the detail when done this way The pilot I think I will use , will be the Ultracast figure above ( I assume you guys know which one of the two is from Ultracast ) The seat in the kit I did not like so I obtained one from Hannants one with moulded harness. Next will be the fuselage halves together bottom wing on ..... will put up pics tomorrow
  3. Hi everyone hope you all had a nice christmas and i wish you all a very happy new year. Anyway now that the bloatiness and hangovers are all over and done with , I began painting up the fuselage of the 109 .I also installed the aires radio equipment . And here is the cockpit ...... I have been reading lots about Eduards fit issues on these kits ....but as its my first 1/32 scale kit , I decided to take the plunge and see what happens . Next update soon ..... ( don't all hold your breath )
  4. Hi guys this is going to be my new project . I'am new here so this will be my first WIP. As soon as work is in progress I will post. Must say I am looking forward to building this not sure if I will use any after market but we will see. And here are 2 pilots that I may put with the 109 .....What do you think . ? looking forward to any comments , criticisms and any advice. Regards Ken.
  5. Ok thanks for the advice ....... Here goes
  6. Hi my name is Ken I used to model 1/48 scale aircraft many moons ago then stopped for years and only recently got back into it after finding out that there is so much you can do with aircraft now especially with all the aftermarket stuff that is out there, Anyhoos some time ago I saw a documentary about Robert Johnson and his P-47 Thunderbolt " Half Pint " and how he survived the attack from Egon Mayer , I was so impressed with the way the Thunderbolt behaved that I just had to build one . So after much searching ( as I didn't know much about model kits ) I found Tamiya 1/48 P-47 Thunderbolt Razorback , found decals for all four of Johnsons aircraft and considering that I had not built any aircraft models since I was a nipper and did not have any reference or advice from anyone I built this . And I just got to say what a dream of a kit it was to build . Please feel free to add any comments or criticisms . Thanks Sorry about the blur If your'e wondering what the blob is on top of airframe ....... it is meant to represent it being burnt The black spots on windscreen represents hydraulic fluid which blinded Johnson while he was spinning through the air
  7. BTW if anyone is wondering what the writing is it actually says " The Guard dies it never surrenders "
  8. Hi everyone My name is Ken and I am new to this forum . Can I just say PHEW!!!!!!! at last got some pics loaded onto here but can't see them I can't fathom out how to show them here , I think you have to click on the links above to see them . Anyway the pics are of a Diorama I built earlier this year using 120mm Verlinden figures some spares I had lying around in a box for example the guy holding up the flag is supposed to be ramming his musket but with a couple of tweaks here and there replaced the musket with a flag from a kit I ve had for many years and voila!!!!! Anyhoo I would like anyone to make comments and tell me if they like or if there is anything that should be put right. I also build 1/48 aircraft as well as 1/32 and as soon as builds progress I will post over on to WIP Aircraft . Thanks
