NWSL Chopper blade deflection

Good morning guys

I have a NWSL Chopper cutting tool

http://store.spruebrothers.com/nwsl-the-ch...r-49-p4817.aspx

but every time I am trying to cut a thick-ish length of stripe there is deflection and it doesn’t make a straight cut

Has anybody experienced something similar? What can I do?

At the moment I make a small cut on one side and then turn it over to make a small cut and turn it again!

I have had the same problem and haven't worked out a way of stopping it yet. It's simply due to the blade flexing as it cuts through thick material. I've been thinking of getting one of these:

and either using it with the saw or trying it with a razor blade. Alternatively there is one of these:

but I don't know if it will be any better than original one?

I have one of these which I picked up at a recent show.

The nice thing is it has a solid blade which is held in place similar to those in a heavy duty Stanley Knife.

It is produced by Linic in the UK.
