Hi there,

Just like the HobbyBoss A-10 N/AW in this forum, I'm looking for help / advice and constructive criticism on this. I've done a couple of 1:144 kits ( after the 1:48 A-10 ) to try to practice skills and techniques without taking a month on a build, trying to learn and improve as much as I can. As usual for me, this is brush-painted with Revell Aqua Colours. And yes, the wings do move! :) All comments welcome, thanks!

J.

For 144 that's really good. Seems like you are improving with each build and what more could you ask of yourself?

Here's a suggestion though, thin the plastic edges wherever you can. Especially in the smaller scales. I'm looking at the wing and tail trailing edges, the engine nozzles, undercarriage doors. missile fins and aerials etc. If the plastic's 1mm thick, (and those trailing edges look lots thicker) that's a scale thickness of 144mm. Six inches! All you need do is sand or scrape the edges to a sharp-ish edge. You can preserve detail by sanding the inner surfaces of wings and so on before assembly if you choose, and if they are split (not always the case in small scales). UC doors can be replaced with thin plasticard or beer can aluminium if you prefer.

You might also like to consider sanding a gnat's whisker of the bottom of the tyres so the aircraft doesn't seem to be stood on iron wheels. Even in 144 I think this gives an impression of real weight on the wheels.

Keep up the good work!
