Starfighter
I have a quick question regarding the colours of the ( Feed chutes ? ) on either side of the MG's on the Fokker Dr. 1 triplane. I'm building the Meng 1/24 model, and according to their instructions the chutes should be painted olive drab ? Looking at period photos they seem to be a similar shade to the guns themselves, so are the instructions correct ? I'm out of my comfort zone with WW1 airplanes, as I usually build later types, so any info would be much appreciated.
e8n2
According to the instructions for both the 72nd Eduard and 32nd Wingnut Wings kits, the feed chutes should be aluminum and the guns gunmetal. Eduard says dark iron, but that pretty much is like gunmetal anyway. Wingnut Wings had very good research for their kits so it would be safe to go along with that. Eduard is usually pretty good as well, but they have had their stumbles, mainly on color schemes I believe. Later, Dave
