AMT 1/48 - Douglas P-70 Nighthawk - 6th NFS - Port Moresby 1943.

Recommended Posts

Hi all. - My last finished model.

Model AMT 1/48 - P-70 Nighthawk - Serial Number 39-768 of Detachment A of the 6th NFS, piloted by Lieutenant Fred Secord and based at 3 Miles Airstrip - Port Moresby (New Guinea) in 1943.
The black paint is a house blend of black and gunze midnight blue. Some panels were painted with other shades of black and very dark gray, and everything was ironed with a veil of very thinned house black paint.
The Willys jeep is the Tamiya and the figures are of different brands.
The base was made with Vallejo products, Pigments, ground garden soil, paint. The vegetation and the bushes come from the brands Mini Natur, Noch etc ...

Make way for photos.

Some pictures of the technique I used before passing a last veil of the thinned base paint. I used the 77Propeller brand masks.

Very convincing Nighthawk, and an evocative diorama.

Those offset front wheels on the jeep add a lot of life to it!

Kind regards,

Joachim

Thanks you very much.
