hello fellow modellers

Im just wondering if any of you know if these two kits are the same. I mean can I build the mogami out of the Mikuma kit? or viceversa?

are there any subtle differences between these two ships?

thank you guys

Alfred.

Given that the Chikuma has four turrets forward when compared to Mogami's three turrets. Chikuma has a shorter flying platform as compared to the one on Mogami. The two models are distinctively different.

If you meant Mikuma rather than Chikuma then yes they are different. The Mikuma is in light cruiser mode with 6" guns, with two kits of the Mogami, one in heavy cruiser build with 8" guns, and the last as an aircraft carrier cruiser.

yes i mean mikuma... i could not edit the topic title,

tamiya has a mogami (78023 kit) before it was an aircraft carrier (78021 kit)

my question is, do you know if i could build the MOGAMI 78023 kit, out of the MIKUMA 78022 kit

just the guns are different?

thank you guys

You can build the Mikuma kit as Mogami was before they upgraded both to heavy cruisers, but you'd have to do some research as i'm pretty sure there were some subtle differences.
