  1. This one slipped under the radar as I was distracted with another build being prepared for a comp a couple weeks ago. I noticed quite a few RAAF Mirages being built in the GB, but all are single seaters! No love for the Dual eh? I have soft spot for the dual seater as my first posting working on the beauties was 2OCU and we had most of the duals. Since I already have a 1/72 2OCU dual in the collection I will be building this as 77SQN example. When 3SQN handed in their Mirages for Hornets in 1986 most of their Mirages came to 77SQN. I will be building the Ex-3SQN dual A3-103 in 77SQN colours. Here are a couple of snaps of the jet I took back in 1987. This shot shows it during a compass swing, it had been a Christmas tree for the other duals for some time and was being prepped for a test flight. I was on the swing crew. At the time I did not know it but I would be in the back seat for its test flight as I had been posted out of the unit. Here is the kit and the decals I will be using, fortunately the kit comes with 3SQN markings for 103, I just need to substitute the 77SQN flashes to make it my test flight jet.
  2. Gday All What a great GB for all us modellers of all things RAAF. I just had to join in and what better day to start than ANZAC day here in Australia where we remember all our dead from all conflicts past and ongoing that Australia has been involved in . Lest We Forget Onto my chosen kit. The Trumpeter 1/48 C-47A Dakota. Australia used C47B's not sure what the differences are yet, hopefully research will turn them up, anyway onto the required box and sprue shots and this last one shows the multi media parts included in the kit, those being rubber tyres, metal landing gear and some PE, also shown are the quick boost corrected rudder, some resin corrected cowlings and Voyager aerials I am awaiting some further Eduard sets from Hannants Regards Bruce
  3. Just finished this one over the weekend litterally for the ACTSMS Blitz Build. It is the old Hasegawa kit build more or less OOB. I only added the LEX fences. Decals are from a PD sheet. The kit decals were useless so I have to add a few more like slime lights, etc. I also found that the PD data stencils were all printed the light grey of the paint scheme so any placed on the lower fuselage disappeared into the paintwork. The scheme is for the 77SQN 50th Anniversary in 1992. Here are the finished pictures
