Having had some recent disasters with modelling on other kits, I’ve decided to build a 1:144 scale GWH Vulcan as a mojo booster. I’m going to do this as close to out of the box as I’ll probably ever go on a vulcan kit, with only a few mods and unnecessary complications..... except that I’m going to use Trumpeter Vulcan jetpipes on the Great Wall Hobby kit because I want Olympus 301s and the GWH ones are currently attached to my most recent Vulcan, XH561, which is based on a Trumpeter kit. I ordered a decal set for this from Hannants, despite my large collection of Vulcan decals I never seem to have the right roundels in the right scales. The set I’ve ordered is Printscale’s 1:144 Anti Flash Vulcan sheet with markings for a B1, a B1a and three B2s. I only need this for he roundels and I could do with some more serials in pale blue, I don’t plan to go with any of the schemes provided in the decal set. Link here Some rather nice box art, although this is the box from the previous GWH Vulcan I butchered to make a B1a This is the one from this kit, same plastic just an extra frame of plastic and more decals. K2 parts stashed for future plans First thing for an anti flash Vulcan is to get rid of the RWR fairing on the tail. Very simple to do that. Some filler around the joint between the halves of the tail may be required.

Might be starting this in the near future. Took me a while to get hold of one at a good price, but a few months ago I finally got one. I also have the extra parts set that includes the parts for tanker and photo reconnaissance Valiants, but I'm not sure if I'm going to use it yet. I haven't decided which scheme she'll be painted in either yet. I know I don't want to do the photo reconnaissance scheme (silver and red) and I'm not keen on the all silver second prototype. So basically it's between the tanker in anti-flash white, two bomber schemes in anti-flash white, and the camo scheme depicting a bomber shortly before the Valiants were grounded. I'll also be looking to pick up a micro mir 1/144 one at some point as 1/144 will be round 2 of my v bomber project (the Victor will be micro Mir's new Victor b1, and I'm hoping they will do a vulcan b1 soon). If anyone's got any Valiants they've built, please post pictures (or a link) here

Right folks here goes, This will be my first upload this year, been a messy and wild start to the year. This year I decided that I wanted to build something that could be linked on to the the next build. And with aquiring the airfix handly page victor a few week back, followed by my dad swapping some railway stuff for an airfix valiant. So two v bombers out of three, already I have acquired the valiant and victor and just awaiting on a vulcan. Sorry for the poor photo. Already I have decided that the three will be painted in their famous anti flash white schemes which will all match. Although the vulcan looks a stunner in camouflage the valiant is a matter of opinion. I am going to start of with building the valiant, and after reading the amount of errors I may have a job on my hands. Any help with these three big beautiful bombers will be appreciated. Hopefully get things started later once the kids are in bed. Thanks for looking in.
