I'm in with a Cavallino Rampante.
A lot of choices, from Francesco Baracca's Spad XIII or any of the 4º Stormo airplanes from Fiat CR.32 to Eurofighter Typhoon.
Also in my stash is a Modeller's 1/20 #27 Ferrari driven by a french-sicilian, but I haven't build anything shiny since the 80's,...
Forza Alesi!!!

I got a really great decal sheet from Matterhorn Circle in middle of April.
Just need some bits 'n' pieces for a Mirage IIIS that visited our air base in the early 90's.
btw, I'm still in but not in the list yet...

I'm in and I trawled up some more options from my stash.
Bristol Blenheim Mk.IF, Mk.IVF
Chance-Vought F4U-5N Corsair
Dornier Do 217 N
Douglas A-26/B-26 Invader
Douglas F3D-2 Skyknight
Fairey Swordfish Mk.III
Fiat CR.42 CN
Lockheed EC-121 Warning Star (Well maybe they were only dark grey or "light black")
Messerschmitt Bf 109E
Messerschmitt Bf 110E
Volkswagen Type 60 (but it doesn't fly very well)

If you really, really feel the need Giorgio, but from what I have read, the Matchbox Rhino is best left to the collectors (unnatural beasts that they are), or built quickly to use as a painting test mule. However, it's your hobby, so do as you feel is right. Personally, I'd love to see one given 'the treatment', as it may inspire me to restart the one I abandoned (mumblemumble) years ago.
Well, this one from 1969 isn't the best UK Rhino either...
The kit is as old as me and neither of us have aged with dignity, I quess...

More cracking Ideas there gang. For some reason I woke up with the notion to build an English Electric Lightning in Belgian Air Force markings. No idea where that came from but now can't decide if it's in camouflage or natural metal.
You know the Belgians had a much more beautiful plane, The Thundermirage

Of course you have the KP, Kopro MiG-17PF kit. Almost perfect, except the stabilizer and if you can live with the raised panel lines. (I can).
At last the AZ Model kits. The best of both the Dragon and the KP kit.
Just remember to check your references to the marking options in the kits.
Some are from Museum planes and not correct.
btw, I'm in with one of these.

Back to topic then.
Dragon released a Jian Ji-5 (MiG-17F)
Here are the sprues with the 3-part afterburner exhaust.
MiG-17
The same main sprues but with 2-part exhaust.
What I remember, the canopy is slightly to small on the Dragon (and Bilek repacked) kit.
Bilek MiG-17F

but, with the sprues for the non-afterburner MiG-17

The Dragon Ji-2 (MiG-15bis)
Not in scale here, but, the worst fault was the odd looking wing.
Repacked by Italeri and Hobbycraft

Yep, looks cool on the box, inside not so good, u/c oversized too.
The Airfix kit is a reboxed Crown.
Crown also did a very odd looking SAAB Viggen with the whole canard wing angled.

Miles Magister
Estonian Aviation Regiment 1936-1940
Kit: RS Models built OOB with the etch that came with the kit
Paints: Agama acrylics, Xtracolor enamel and AK interactive True Metal paste
Misc: Sorry, but the windscreens are lost at the moment.

-
Thank You, Cliff!
The Magister is finished except the windscreens.
I must have put them in a much too safe place.
The engine covers have AK Interactice True Metal brushed on .
I'm not that satisfied with the result and I think the brushmarks are bit to visible
I managed to fold the decals around the rudder with a lot of decal setter and only needed to paint a bit of the blue on top.
RLM 25 Blau matched good enough.
The exhaust differs a bit from the real thing.
And of course I lost one of those 2mm long "thingies". One is visible between the landing gears.
It was a fun plane to build and I like this sort of 2-seaters from the 30's

Thank you, but I think I already have lost.
I just can't find the windscreens and the PE venturi tube now.The decals went on without any problems. The wheels didn't. No fit at all. I had to sand them down a lot and the look a bit odd now.
I have masked the walkway for the 2nd time.
Last attempt resulted in that I ripped of the painted walkway with the tape.

It's getting late here, but I'll give it a last try.
I spent some hours yesterday with sanding, puttying with more sanding.
Primer on today...
...some more sanding and a coat of Agama silver.

That stash is definitely way too big! I think you need to sell some kits pronto. What are you asking for a C/D, an E, an N or an M?
They're my preciousssss and it's like selling a family member.
btw, to keep Mish happy we have o keep all business in the Buy & Sell forum and neither of us have 100 posts yet...

I think the shelf queens look good too in a way...
Just remember NOT to put on the wings and they don't take up that much space on the shelf.

I have two of the younger cousins released 1991 when Revell repacked the Monogram kit for a movie.
Monogram always put their © moulded in with a year.
Please check your stabilizer.Mine shows ©MMI = 2001 and I think that is the best before date for this obsolete kit even if it's a very good kit.

Here is my 2nd entry. I felt I had to thin out my Fujimi stash that has grown a bit too much.
This is a too big stash
The prices were better them. The oldest price tag showed £5.95Double choice kit from Fujimi
The decals come from AirDOC and my choice is one of the two schemes from Zweibrücken.
I just have to check if I have the parts for the AN/ARN101

I did my military service here in Sweden on SF/SH 37 Viggen and have some reconaissance planes from the same era in my stash.
I prefer the darker color schemes like this one.
So, here is my Revell RF-4E in norm 83 camoflage.
I'm gonna build it OOB with the kit decals from AG51 Immelmann in Bremgarten 1988.

That looks really good and you must have spent many hours building that one.
Nice paint chipping.
Mine that I've put deep in my stash has a fuselage shaped like something between a banana and a corkscrew.
-
I've started the cockpits
Airfix top, no steering column and the steering wheel molded into the instrument panel!
Dragon has all you need expect seat belts.
Both built together here

My book has arrived.
Then I remembered the P-38 that landed on the wrong field in Italy.
I have an old Airfix that I bought many years ago just to make a nostalgy build. I got bored of it and sold it just to get it back a year later.
Donated it in a raffle just to win it back again...
i guess I have to build it. I don't seem to be able to get rid of it....
So, in the background there will be an old rivety monster too.
Special edition box, again with that "Pugdy".
-
Nice choice, I started one build in 1/72 some years ago and still haven't finished it...
A good source is Baldur Sveinsson's site about 57 FIS.

It's good to see that there are a number of Euro-1 scheme jets in this GB. Anyone fancy doing the German equivalent?
OK, I'm in mit'n Deutscher
I'll go for a 1/72 Revell RF-4E in norm 83 green-black-green wraparound camo

Really beatiful both of them
Niche brushwork.
Do you use big brushes and a sweaping technique not to get any brushmarks?

Then you need the control unit in the cockpit too
