  1. Thanks Tweeky, you are right, I should have said 31 SQN, not 36! Not sure what I was thinking there! Good insight on the engines, but I won’t be showing them at all! I didn’t even add all the other parts to them as I figured there was no point.
  2. So some more work completed, engines ready to be installed, wheelbays and cockpits in and front fuselage closed up. The intakes are a multitude of parts, you almost need a third and forth hand to get it all to fit and sit nicely.
  3. Cockpits side by side, eduard and red fox. They are both really nice, red fox goes all the way back on the side consoles. The eduard set has two very pale panels in the back seat, this is to highlight position of some etch boxes that I need to complete. tried hard to match the colours both companies provided, I got as close as I could, and look closer without the flash and post a flat coat and more weathering. Will continue to work on the photos, also a new thing for me, particularly inside of exhausts, but I hope you get the idea.
  4. Thanks Alan, the plan is to have BC with TIALD and one 1000lb lgb, and carrying AIM 9s on the shoulder. The second fin will be a later iteration with ASRAAM, 2xgbu 12a, brimstone and litening. It was going to be an Op Ellamy jet but it looks like they carried a something other than the sky shadow. I thought it may have been an extra Boz CM but looking at the walk around in these forums it looks like something different again. Anyway have made progress, still don’t have a work bench nor paint station so have been cutting spruce and making sub assemblies. Engines are done except external exhaust area and the buckets. The way italeri piece together the intakes is… well different? The trunking is full of ejector pin marks, then the two parts almost have rounded corners leaving an ugly seam. Then the way the intake goes together if you follow the instructions there would be no way I could use the technique of filling the trunking with white acrylic and then drain. So you’ll notice I’ve been experimenting with how to achieve a work around by attempting to make up the intakes into one piece from inlet to engine face.. will experiment soon. I have also added a couple of shots of parts and pin marks, there seems to be a lot, and some very obvious places, such as intake lip, main gear doors and the flaps.
  5. Hi ive been a longtime lurker of these forums, often drawing inspiration to start, continue or complete a build. I recently entered a group build and had some questions, so thought I would post here. My build is the 1/32 italeri tornado, or more precisely two of them. The first is ZA560 ‘Brave Coq’ OP Telic the second will be either 36 or 617sqn. my questions are related to BC on OP Telic. Judging from the euro decals sheet, the mission marks all look like lgb missions? I can’t find any reference photos on the net, so I’m not sure if this load out would have been the TIALD pod and a 1,000 lb LGB on each of the centre and starboard forward station, or just one on the latter station? Can anyone help me out with the typical load out or pictures of BC during Op Telic? anyway this is what I have to start, have commenced cutting and flying into minor assemblies, I have to set up my paint station again after moving house, until then I’m keeping it basic. I have the red fox and Eduard sets for the cockpits, all seem very nice. Anyway see how this goes! Thanks in advance for any assistance!
  6. Thanks All, I started the build on the weekend, the reveal kits go together really well, and easy enough to figure out the bits from each kit to build the HMA8. The only thing missing is the chaff/flare buckets (I assume thats what they are) near the main landing gear. I appreciate all the help, has anyone heard from Lynx7? I read in his build he had some chord to make up a fast rope, something I would like to buy from him, but haven't heard from him. thanks again Andy
  7. Hi all, Just gathering some references to combine the Revell 1/32 HAS3 and Mk88 into a HAS8 (if that's the correct terms?) and what I wasn't aware of (and makes perfect sense) is the removal of the controls for the observer (left seat?) and what does this look like? as in are the cyclic and collective removed but the control boots remain? Also are there any pictures of the hoists stowed and deployed? and one last one, does anyone have pictures of the avionics bays in the nose? Thanks in advance for any help Andy
