  1. An update. The figure is finished (well mostly, I just spotted a couple of attachment points that I missed in the photo!). I'm not sure the engineering of this is up to the standard of the Bandai Star Wars kits I've built, though those are far less fiddly than this. Fit is less positive in some parts and the sprue attachment points are often located in obvious spots. On to the weathering next. If I have time, I will get to my second entry for the group build, which should be obvious from the above.
  2. Thanks! I'll have a look. Here is a bit of an update. I've been sitting at the table after work and putting this together. The instructions are vague, but that's probably because I don't read Japanese! 😅 It's a fun build. Looking forward to the weathering.
  3. Hi all, thanks for the welcome in the other thread. Here is my first contribution to the group build. (I have something a little more conventional lined up next.) It's a Bandai Gundam kit! These things are a little more like puzzles than models, because everything fits together so precisely. You may have encountered the style in the awesome Bandai Star Wars kits. There are a couple of challenges with the kit. First is that it is a pre-coloured kit. I think these must be marketed in Japan as more toy-like models for those who won't want to paint them. Second is that the decals are actually stickers. Both these facts mean that it might be hard to make this look like something the than a bunch of plastic parts. I was tempted to paint it and make my own decals, but that would be a huge job. So I'm going to build it as is and see what can be done with clear coats, washes, and weathering. I'm might also build a base. So what's in the box I hear you ask? A huge number of parts for such a small model! I've put a bit together already and will update soon. I'm also new to this site, so a bit about me. I've been lurking for a while and finally decided to join. (My previous forum is now defunct. ) I chose this group build because my wife and I are both Japanophiles (or less politely, weebs). We have been several times. She enjoys the culture and anime, and I'm there for the models and trains. We both love the food. I also model N scale Japanese railways: Grant
  4. Hi, I'd like to join with this if possible, I think it fits the brief.
