  1. Some say 'better late than never', but here is the first pick. Really impressed with how Tamiya engineered the wheels for this kit. Instead of the usual two halves, each main wheel is comprised of 14 parts, engineered just so that when fitting together there is hardly any gap visible anywhere. No need ot deal with a join in the middle of the wheel. I am already getting other sub-assemblies together before heading to the paint-booth
  2. I happened across this when listening to an internet classical radio chanel. It is a cricket-based parody on the famous Flower duet by Lakme.
  3. Yep, I like working in 1/32. I have two Tamiya kits in 1/48, but am seriously considering letting them go - as well as a Verlinden cockpit set. We'll see how the build goes, planning to look into it tomorrow and make up a plan of attack of sorts.
  4. Placeholder for my first WIP in here. Planning to depict the aircraft as flown during the D-day operation. This aircraft was also used in the operation Jericho (bombing of the Gestapo prison in order help captured resistance fighters to escape). I am not sure which aftermarket I will be using as of yet. Here is a list of the possible contenders: Brassin Mosquito FB Mr. VI gun bay; Iconicair Merlin Engine rocker cover nameplates; Barracuda Ammo feed chutes Quinta studio interior 3D decal HGW basic line seat belts & masks Eaglecalls decal sheet (has the markings of the plane I wish to depict) Barracuda cockpit stencils & placards Barracuda external stencils Eduard big ed (contains sheets for interior, seatbelts, interios and masks) Photos will folow...
  5. Thank you all for your replies. The metals are acrylics, I spent quit some time using different shades of metal to obtain a battered look (unlike the polished finish of some of the modern stuff, which I think looks unrealistic because they would most likely have beaten the metal into shape). Looks nice now IMHO. The face is done in oils, while the cloak is done in Scalecolour acrylics using the stipple method. Tried to get two different tones for the cloak and the wrapping, which I think work out well.
  6. Thanks all for your replies. metals were painted using acrlics, the rest is all oil.
  7. Another one I did some time ago (have been none active for a while, now getting back into swing) As usual, looking forward to your comments and critiques...
  8. Am a bit more to the south (aboot 30 minutes from Glasgow)
  9. Wasn't too bad. I did put the wings on differently than suggested in the instructions: only glued top half on when the bottom was properly aligned with the airframe. Saved some filling in at the joints. Other than that I cannot remember any issues.
  10. Oops, typo. Have changed in the header. Scale is 1:32 Kit is from Azur Thanks for the reaction and questions
