Hi again . I've built 8 Subaru kits over the years . First one was a Hasegawa Legacy back in the mid 90's .

Hi there . What kit is this you are building ? is it the Heller Subaru ? And finally is that real mud you have applied ? Looks like it's been off into a peat bog ! Nice build , Subaru rally car kits always turn out well .

HI . In my stash of models i built years ago (the loft ! ) i have a ESCI BMW M1 Procar . It had the "crystal" bodyshell and , i think , Jaegermiester livery . I think i painted one half orange and left the other side "see thru" . I must try to dig it out and put some pics of it on the Forum . Tamiyas Audi Quattro Rally Car was the first kit i ever built and is still on display in my cabinet . Ar , the memories !!

Years ago i built both versions of this kit . I later repainted and redecaled the Eatons car as a Rothmans Ari Vatanen car . Shall you be painting the body or leaving it see through ?

I m on with building the Airfix Mini WRC kit and the side window glazing doesnt fit correctly , so i cut it in two pieces then it fit o.k . Nice Fiesta !!!

Old Ford RS models are worth a fair bit of money now . I have a 1996 Escort RS2000 . Hopefully it will give me a good pension if i keep it long enough !!

Hi there . i find painting window surrounds and rubbers a tense time , even with window masks . You can get away with shaky hand moments on Subaru kits though because of the blue colour scheme , slip ups dont seem to show as much !!!

Hi . Flocked seats look really good . I always seem to get nervy when I have to paint the windows and window surround seals on my cars , more so if the car is a light colour cos any slip ups will show !!!

Very nice kit . I love all the interior detail on rally car models , that then get covered by the body shell !! Top work !

Hi again . The Roo is coming along great ! I think rally Subaru models are an easy introduction to motorsport kit building as they dont need a lot of masking up and the decals are not too technical to apply . The end result with that gorgeous blue paint are always very impressive though .

10 out if 10 for dedication with DIY decals !! The car looks great . Built this version and the Michelin Pilot version years ago . They all now fetch big money on the bay .

Bit of progress on the Mini . Got all the bodyshell decals on . These went on very easy , probably because as modern rally cars go the paint scheme is pretty simple . The black and white check stripes smoothed down with very little persuassion . After decals had dried i very delicately painted in the wheelarch and bodykit , carbon fibre on the real thing , Tamiya Semi Gloss Black over painted with Humbrol Satin Varnish .

The Capri RS3100 European Touring Cars of the 70's were nicknamed Cologne Capris and look awesome . Saw one at a show in February . Think they had a 3.4 litre V6 engine . Seem to remember a cheap model kitl of this version . Can anyone else remember it ?

People used to belittle Capris but arent they a good looking car ? Great looking model , wheels look spot on .

Hi . Been in the loft today and dug out this . I built it in 1990 when i was 19 and was in on display ,unprotected , for 15 years or so . I hand painted all the sponsor logos and remember using loads of coats of white to cover the black of the original car . Robb Gravett was one of the top British touring Car drivers at the time and became Champion in 1990 . NEC Cartel were an early in car mobile phone company . Still to this day wished i had bought another Sierra and built it as a Texaco car .Tamiya Sierra models fetch good money now on E Bay . Somewher Thanks for looking .

Hi again . Bodyshell sanded and repainted after masking tape disaster . I painted body red a while ago then masked up to spray roof white . left to dry then peeled masking tape off , only for it to have left a sticky residue . Used some 1500 grade sandpaper to remove it , then repainted . Doesnt look to bad now .

Hi . New gear lever looks good ! Think it's a pity Airfix don't include seat and belt decals . Coming along nicely .

Is it a Tommi Makinen Argentina Rally car because i seem to remeberhim having a huge crash there in a Subaru .
