  1. Actually, I wanted to cover the foil with flat coat first and then polish it up a bit, but it was a bit too delicate for me. I am quite satisfied with the satin finish:
  2. one in the light, one in the dark, and one very dark (at some point, there is no point anymore in taking pictures) ....
  3. So, another few day/night pictures of the whole plane and then I'll leave you alone:
  4. On the original, the fail was sealed at many areas and panel lines with a shiny glue / sealant. I tried to imitate this somewhat in the model. If the satin finish shines in one place every now and then, it is deliberately so!
  5. Another quick look at the engines; in the dark you can see more than in daylight The stand is a converted polystone with welding wire:
  6. Many thanks for the interest and the nice feedback. A quick look at the belly side: The tanks and the payload are removable. As for the intakes; as you can see ....... you don’t see any of the rework, but at least I know it’s there hehe:
  7. Here's a quick look at the ... well ... almost DIY engines. Resin would be a nice idea here!
  8. Basically I think (well ... I hope) that all stripes are where they were in the original. Fortunately, the tiger foil didn't let much show through ....
  9. Here one can maybe see the small color differences on the slats again (mentioned in the WIP)?
  10. Depending on the sunlight, the film on the HUD display also casts a nice green shimmer and here the conversion work on the canopy frame might become a little clearer:
  11. On the original, depending on the angle of the light, you could make out a certain color difference between the gray on the foil and the paint on the jet. I tried to show it in a similar way in the decals. Otherwise, I hope that the tiger stripes also lie as in the original and all panels are where they should be:
  12. I am not sure how many pictures such a flyout should have. Should it be too much, please let me know and I will delete some immediately. Maybe a few detail pictures first ...
  13. Since the Ghost Tiger in 1/72 from Revell is a bit too small for me, and understandably this special livery means a bit more to me than some other Tiffies, the birdie had to be a little bigger in my showcase. In addition, I had a little special effect in my head that unfortunately didn't make it to the original (but could almost have with a little more time!). I really wanted to know what it could have looked like, so here is my "uncanny Ghost Tiger - glow in the dark edition" Boooohooohooooooooooooo .... (for all those who might still be interested in the route up to that point and who might want to take something with them for their own Tiffy project , here's the WIP again:
  14. And with that I call this session as DONE! OVER! FINISHED! Thats it buddy! Elvis has left the stage! Thanks a lot for the interest and for following on. I hope the flyout (if wanted) will follow soon! See you for the next project! And here's the link to the flyout:
  15. The display stand received some color that fits the model and will eventually get a nice sticker and a badge:
  16. Soooo .... the rest is actually just small things that are not worth showing. The tanks got their claws and all the antennas were attached to the fuselage. The launcher got the yellow rails and the payload was attached. And with that the whole thing is already done:
  17. Something that shouldn't be missing under any circumstancesand wich I just can't afford to miss ..... the small data plates on the inside edges of the canards. hehehehe 😋😂
  18. Originally the canards were painted by someone coming over to Neuburg airbase from the Erding facility closeby after a template that I did, but result was .....uuuuuuuhm ..... well, I better not open the can of worms anymore. It was not the nicest story. But in the end it was a good thing! The canards were painted black again after the first flight, the eyes that I designed as a template for the canards were enlarged and also printed on foil and then applied to the canards. The good thing about it is that I now have a nice keepsake. Thankfully the airwing was able to not shred on of the eyes on the canards and keep it for me after the defoliation. Now all I need is an Eufi-Canards hihihi. The eye foil had a peculiar effect on the canards, which I did not like at first, but strangely, was even well received by many for whatever reason. Depending on how the light came in, the foil reflected differently, so that you could see the "eye around the eye" and the adhesive edges and sometimes not. I tried to imitate the whole thing on the model. I then also added some glossy coating to the edges to imitate the sealing of the edges on the original. Not perfect, but good enough for me:
