1/35 - Sikorsky CH-54A Tarhe by ICM - released
flarpen replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
I too would love to see this in 1/48 I have never understood why helicopters are made in 1/35 scale. The only reason I can come up with is for the diorama builders to include a helo in a dio together with some tanks or something. But to my knowledge I have never seen such a dio. A helicopter is an aircraft after all and as such they should make them in the popular aircraft scales. -

As they have a Falklands conflict theme going on, a A-4 Skyhawk would fit that bill. It is after all 40y since that conflict took place.

1/32 - Learjet 35 / C-21A & U-36A resin kit by Jetmads - released
flarpen replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
Would love to see it in these markings Then I could think about maybe getting one. -
The A and B kit plastic is the same with the addition of a resin engine in the B kit. Other than that it's only decals that differ.

Well, the SAAB 17 has a very simple U/C solution and the U/C cover doubles as a dive brake during dive bombing.

I'm building one right now. It's a short run kit and as such the quality isn't at an Eduard standard obviously. The details are soft, missing and in many cases wrong and the fit of the parts is not great. is it overprized for what you get, probably yes. BUT and that's a big but, it's the only way to build a SAAB 17 in 1/48 scale unless you want to scratch build one. And with a bit o TLC it can be made into a good looking replica of the real deal.

flarpen replied to Bjorn's topic in The Rumourmonger
Are the parts to make a FB.5 included on the sprues in this boxing? I've looked at the sprue pics, but can't identify the wing tips needed to make a FB.5 -

Sounds like that could be a good idea. -

I suppose that would have to be Vingtor for Norwegian markings I guess 😆 . As for Swedish (FB.5) markings, Moose Republic has that covered. -
1/72 - Saab J29F Tunnan by Tarangus Models - released
flarpen replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
That would be nice, but I don't see that happening any time soon. Regarding the viggen I suspect that it was Special Hobby who wanted the kit to a higher standard then the Tarangus other releases. -
1/72 - Saab J29F Tunnan by Tarangus Models - released
flarpen replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
Not a rebox. The F version has a different wing with saw tooth leading edge and a bigger, longer rear fuselage to accommodate the new afterburner engine. So their will need to be some very different major parts in this release. -
I thought you would pick up on this Homebee, so I didn't post it here as well. Can add this though: schemes included:
