Hi all, wading in here to new forum for me. I work at Health Sciences Centre here in Winnipeg as a high speed duplicator operator...otherwise known as a copier...! I run 2 of them that are as big as small cars, and turn out around 2.5 million copies per year. So much for the paperless society...!! I am an ex-roadracer, from the 80's/90's, at which time I ran 550/600cc production and cafe class bikes. I build a lot of wooden things from display shelves to bowls on the lathe. I teach and repair airbrushes, play Call of Duty FPS games, and crawl the web for ideas and photos of aircraft and armour.
I build small electronic gadgets, mosly from kits. Things like Led flashers, timers, clocks, and lighting kits for models. I have worked in England at Burberry's and Harrod's, as well as pubs and a mess of small shops designing window displays. I worked for the MEA consumer news as a reporter/writer. I managed a tabloid size community newspaper here in the 'Peg, and managed a Henry Armstrong's Instant Printing store back in the heyday of "Print for Pay" as it was called. I raced R/C cars in 1/12 scale and 1/10 scale, and made vinyl decals for the R/C aircraft boys at the local R/C hobby shop. I really enjoy talking to chaps overseas and around the world on different modeling projects, and helpin guys out with their airbrush problems. I have at this time approx. 325 kits in the 'stash', awith another dozen drawers full of PE and resin update kits. I have been entering the main articles from TMMI magazine into an Excel database for ease of tracking down an article. I am cyrrently at issue 164...tedious to say the least when you "hunt and peck" on the keyboard...!! Cheers, all, Laurie oh ya, I'm President of the Manitoba Model Builders here in Winnipeg. We have a rudimentary web page you can look up using the same name. -------------------- "Live Long...Build 'em ALL...!"
