  1. Which Dragon kit was this ??????
  2. Is anyone going to paint thiers in Trenchants Blue mediteranian colours, would love to see that D
  3. Dads Great work so far !! Looking forward to your updates D
  4. 'T' boats were designed around the 'S'class submarines, The outside dimesions are not even meters in differerance. The one huge differance is the rudder !! the rudder on 'S' boats are smaller than they are on 'T' boats (small S, Tall T) The insides of the T boats are vastly superior to the S boats with lessonds learned in the S boat build and opperations. So i think to make the model into an S boat when i get round to it shouldnt be to difficult, most of the details are all in around about the right areas just a few fills and moves D
  5. The Holes in the pics are SCAD and they are much bigger than 100mm. They are the externally launched counter measures. The 100mm counter measures are launced from the internal Submerged Signal Ejectors (Mk8) which are located on the Fwd and Aft Escape Flats and are basically a big water pistol using air and water to launch a store from the ejector barrel
  6. Jon Kunac The blades of the propulsor and the stator and shroud together prevent the formation of bubbles which cause cavitation !! and we have shared a dummed down version of it with our colonial cousins which they use on the Seawolf and Virginia class
  7. The Submerged Signal Ejector (SSE) Mk 6 (S Boats), Mk 8 (T Boats), Mk 10 (V Boats) and Mk 11 (A Boats) are all internaly launched sonar aids and also countermeasures and you can see it on the model just aft and to the the left of the aft escape hatch and just fwd of the donk shop hatch also to the right of the fwd escape hatch They can fire both RN and USN stores although an addapter has to be fitted to accomidate the USN Store
  8. I would check this as 'S' Boats were also fitted with these launchers in there last couple of refits. They are SACD (Submarine Acoustic Countermeasure Device) launchers and they fire noise makers when the submarine is under threat from enemy torpedos an improvement than using the SSE
  9. One of the things that is completely wrong !!!!!! Is the description in the instructions saying a 'T' boat was the first to launch cruise missles in the Yugoslavia conflict IT WAS HMS Splendid!!! an older and better class of submarine
  10. Might be wrong but i do belive Swiftsure and Trafalgar both had propellers and all other boats in both classes had / have propulsors !! Working in Faslane im gonna make mine as an 's' boat in particular HMS Splendid a few modifications but shoudnt be to difficult With the acoustic tiles I was thinking about a slim covering of plasto or similar with delicate and carfully cut scribe lines Brother was senior officer on board Swiftsure ( ok she had been decommisioned ) and Father was ERA on Oracle, Rouqual and Outside Wrecker on Revenge
