  1. Gary, Oddly enough, I have recently finished putting together a set of decals for XA723 as well as the two other Javelins that accompanied it to Canada, XA720 and XA721. When I have finished all the other things needing to be done it will be made available as CanMilAir set # 493. You will find it in my "Multi Jet" category HERE once the images are uploaded. This should only be a matter of a week or two, I should think. Do you have larger versions of the colour photos you posted? Or any others for that matter. I have a few B&W pics of XA723, but they don't show much.
  2. Edgar, I would find that list most valuable! Can you make a photocopy of it and mail it to me, or scan it and send to me through email?
  3. Thanks Graham, that's what I thought. Dave, I wasn't aware of the old IPMS-C sheet, thanks for the tip and I will see if I can find out more about it and if it contained a second a/c. The origanal photo shows a long line of a/c (13) parked. Since my question was regarding the underwing markings, and only the nearest a/c showed these, I cropped the rest out for my question. You are correct, the Dak in the photo does have a diamond with "MP" on the nose. The next Dakota in line behind "MP" clearly shows "MF" in the same diamond and the code letter "F" is very clearly seen on the fuselage side underneath the port engine nacelle of "P". Unfortunately, the serial of this Dakota is not shown. Although they can't be read, it is apparent that the diamonds of the first 4 Dakotas all contain different second letters.
  4. Below is a photo of an RCAF Dakota IV with 435 Sqn in ETO markings with C1 roundels on upper wings (presumably) and fuselage sides. This photo was taken on April 1, 1946 during the squadron disbandment ceremonies. After cessation of hostilities in early 1945, the practice of having the serial numbers under the wings was resumed, similar to pre-war aircraft. I would like to know if the aircraft serial number evident under the port wing in the photo, would also be present under the starboard wing with the marking practices of the period. Thanks.
  5. Jim, My Top Aces set is now finished and I will be releasing it at the end of the September and it will contain markings for all 8 of their Alpha Jets. Also, I am hoping to release at the same time, a set for the ex-Swiss Hawker Hunters of Northern Lights. I still have a few things to do on the set though, and I am just waiting for some clarifacation from the staff at Northern Lights in Montreal.
