Mike Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 I've just used these puppies for the first time, which I got from Graham at Relish Models - I'm afraid I nabbed the last pack for now They're a new(ish) type of Photo-Etch that does away with the sometimes annoying attachment tabs that you need to cut through and clean up when you use standard PE. Somehow (and I don't profess to know how, but can hazard a guess) the fret ends up mounted on 2 sheets of sticky plastic sheet, and to use them all you do is peel off the front sheet, and pick out the size and style you need with a pair of tweezers. I've found a quick & easy way of applying them that seems to work. Mark the location you're going to place your "nut" with a pencil, drop a nut within a few millimetres of the final location, then apply a dot of CA with a cocktail stick or pin, and quickly slide the nut into place with some tweezers, pressing down when it's in the right place. It avoids the scramble & associated pinging of nuts into the ether. As you can see, you get quite a few of each size, but large projects could end up expensive & may even drive you Only downside is that the sticky plastic leaves a little residue on the nuts, which makes them cling to your tweezers occasionally. That is far outweighed by the lack of attachment gate to cut & clean off every nut. I'd say I'm sold Review sample courtesy of Relish Models, and my pocket
