  1. Hi all, First of all, Merry Christmas and a happy new year. The Mrs bought me this kit for Christmas, and seeing as I'm off work, it built up rediculously quick this week. Kit went together like a bag of spanners, but stuck with it as me Mrs wanted to see me struggle, was painted with humbrol enamels and Tamiya acrylics, then ever so slightly weathered with Tamiya weather powder (the one that looks like the Mrs eye make up). Still need to work on weathering, but still quite happy with the way I finished the kit. Quite impressed with how Monty turned out So only been modelling since start of summer, built up a variety of kits and thoroughly enjoyed it, it's kept me away from my old past of football hooliganism and 5 day benders, still as skint from seeing plastic I want to buy every weekend, thank you all for been so welcoming, see you all next year!
  2. Hi all, First of all Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you all. The Mrs bought me this kit from the LMS that closed down not so long ago, and as I've had some time off work I've built it up relatively fast. Painted with a mixture of humbrol enamels and Tamiya acrylics, minimal weathering applied (it is a generals car after all). Kit went together like a sack of spuds but nothing a bit of filler couldn't solve. Particularly impressed with the finish of Monty himself, probably the best figure I've painted for the small time I've been modelling, anyway, here are some pics.
  3. Exactly the look I was going for, thanks I'm sure they just plugged it right into the mains, quick and easy clean up
  4. Hi all, had this one in the pipeline since around July time, just been on and off it. Finally finished this evening and it looks lovely. Haven't seen many sources containing a dusty looking one from North Africa but as I'm visited Morocco in September I've used my imagination. Sandy. Anyway, hope you enjoy the pics, Oll
  5. Hi all, just finished my first 1/72 modern aircraft. Really enjoyed it however feel like there's lots of areas I could've improved on. However compared to my first few builds I feel like I'm improving a lot. Hoping to buy an airbrush soon so looking forward to seeing the results when that comes. However here's my MiG 29, all painted with a fluffy stick, cheers. https://flickr.com/photos/139717883@N05/sets/72157673005341124
  6. Hi all! Massive progress due to illness so no gym. and that's just about finished! Really enjoyed this one and feel like I'm making some good progress with skills comparing this to other models I have made. Hopefully investing in an airbrush over the next few weeks so should get some good quality finishes. Looking forward to moving on with the next build. Cheers Oll
  7. Matt coat applied last night and a dirty wash added. Now started on all the fiddly bits. Front landing gear and wheels added aswell as rear landing gear and flaps, just waiting for wheels to dry. Should be some more progress later this week.
  8. hi all, no update for a while, been training super hard in the gym recently and haven't had a lot of time of the bench recently. Managed to get a quick hour this arvo and applied all the decals. Starting back on 13 hour days tomorrow, then training for 2 hours a night, so probably not much will be going on next week. Until next time
  9. Quick update this evening, nose cone painted, gloss coat applied and underside decals added. Not sure how much work will be done this week, working 11 hours a day plus heavy weights at the gym, we'll just see how it goes hey.
  10. Evening all, quick update, done a bit more work today, started on the landing gear and wheels, and painted the main body. XF19 was thinned down using Tamiya acrylic thinner and was given a blasting with a hairy stick for 4 coats. The camoflague was XF22 and was again painted with a hairy stick (may have to invest in a proper airbrush after Christmas). Particularly proud of the camo paint job, all free hand and no masking. Will probably need another coat tomorrow once it's dry. cheers, Oll
