Chris W. Balmer Posted July 28, 2012 Author Posted July 28, 2012 Here's a few of the primed and pre shaded progress...
Chris W. Balmer Posted August 1, 2012 Author Posted August 1, 2012 Quick shot of the light grey applied to the underside. Am off planespotting in Lincs, Norfolk and Suffolk now for a few days, but plan to get some serious movement going on the Sandy this weekend!
Chris W. Balmer Posted August 26, 2012 Author Posted August 26, 2012 tiny update here, but the sausages have come into play...
AndyC Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Gotta love them sausages! Looks like we might be close to finishing together!
Chris W. Balmer Posted August 27, 2012 Author Posted August 27, 2012 I'm struggling with the paint tbh... The greens are Vallejo but just come out too thin...I know it's my thinning to blame but I get so much better results with model master paints....might redo that green before I get much further...
Chris W. Balmer Posted September 3, 2012 Author Posted September 3, 2012 Disaster struck at the weekend - some of the paint on and was pretty grainy to say the least - more like sandpaper !! So out came the Fairy Power spray... crikey that stuff is good - spray on, leave for a few hours, and then wipe down with a wet sponge, and that paint rolls off with absolute ease... even take the primer off leaving the original plastic as good as new.... some more cleaning up of the bird tonight, then repainting shall commence again!
AndyC Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 This kit is putting you through the mill isn't it mate? Best policy to start again if not happy though - and you have plenty of time to get it right
Chris W. Balmer Posted September 3, 2012 Author Posted September 3, 2012 It's had it's up and downs Andy - indeedy! Having the chance to restart the painting was lucky.... Phew!
c.smith10 Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 http://hsfeatures.com/features04/a1hltd_1.htm have a look at this build for the exhaust staining, I loosely did the same on my skyraider build and was very happy with the result
Chris W. Balmer Posted September 3, 2012 Author Posted September 3, 2012 Thats a great link - thanks!
