  1. After my last couple of builds being WW1 with lozenge decals, rigging and all that stuff, I fancied building something with a jet engine, nice and simple (ish). I've always liked the look of the two seat Hunter, so when Fisher Models released a conversion in 1/32 for the Revell kit I had to have one. Decided to make it a little different from the usual and get the T.8M with the Sea Harrier FRS.1 radar in the nose. This is also the first time ive worked with resin in this quantity, so should learn a few new skills on the way. Only just getting started with this one, so not too much to show yet. Got the small-bore jet pipe in the fuselage and cut down the spine to accept the resin coaming. Got the wings together also. Bit of a dodgy fit on the slats and wingtips that I wasnt expecting, think it may well have been my fault and not the kits, but nothing a bit of filler didnt sort out. Before adding the wings to the fuselage im going to detail up the wheel bays, they arnt bad from the kit but the real Hunter has a rats nest of crap in there, so more needs adding. Test fitting the cockpit into the nose. This fits really well with only a small bit of fettling needed. I removed the moulded instrument coaming overhang in preparation for one modification I am making. From looking at the available reference photos of the T.8Ms cockpit (all 5 of them this isnt the easiest aircraft to find reference for) its clear to me that the section added to mount the radar scope and controls that I am guessing are for the the HUD units (correct me if im wrong), are mounted proud of the rest of the panel and raised vertically compared to a regular two seat Hunter. To change this ive chopped that section out of the photo etch panel, and using some plasticard ive raised it vertically and horizontally from the rest of the panel. Once this is all mounted to the resin nose I will make a new coaming as the real aircraft appears to have a canvas covering over this section which sits above the level of the main coaming. Hope that all makes sense, should look better once its done anyway.
