Hi everyone. Been a funny old year really, the output has been a bit higher than usual but unfortunately as a lot of them are destined for Airfix Model World magazine they can't be shown prior to publication. Just to say that there is quite an eclectic mix of sci-fi /fantasy/anime, armour/strange road and track vehicles and some floaty target shaped things in there for a bit of variety which I hope to bring to you soon. Many thanks for all the positive comments this year, it's really very much appreciated, (along with the many KUTA reminders too ) and of course all the wonderfully mindless banter......and yes I'm looking long and hard at you young Learstang ! A Happy New year to one and all ... Cheers Andy... Technically though it was posted in 2014 the model wasn't finished until January this year, (extra rigging and a bit more weathering underneath) so I'll include it here. It's a 1/72nd scratch-built Clement Ader Eole, 'steam powered flying machine' of 1890. Made from paper, Evergreen plastic, a good set of drawings and a few spare kit parts it was a lot of fun... The 1/144th resin S&M AVRO 730 cancelled nuclear bomber project.....sincerely hope there are more such interesting subjects on the way. 1/144th Pit Road TSR2....(thanks Rob) Heavily modified 1/96th Lindberg Handley-Page HP-80 'Victor', second prototype WB775 in its 1955 Farnborough show colours... The 1/48th Tarangus JA-37 Viggen...with a fair bit of modification as many of the kit parts were a bit of a let down to be honest....a lot of the mods I did are now available from sister company Maestro Models, bumping the price up considerably which is a 'shame', (and that's being tactful). Fairly rare 1/700th Fujimi Atragon submarine/flying boat/drill/buzzsaw/ship type thingy from a 1963 Japanese movie of the same name...picked this up from an airshow for a fiver. A scratch-built MUTO creature from the so-so 2014 movie 'Godzirra'. Based on a tiny plastic childs toy for the proportions and movie screen captures I moulded it in fine Milliput over a wire frame to a bigger scale, carved to shape then airbrushed away...just for a bit of fun really....don't know why but these insect like creatures appealed to me.... Pre-production model of the Airfix AW Whitley V built for AMW. A lovely model to put together, one or two things to watch out for but basically no real problems....roll on further versions. Airfix Halifax B.III, again for AMW magazine. The ancient Airfix kit bought up to date. Fun project Italeri Short Stirling B Mk.1...horrible kit, didn't enjoy building this one at all, but persevered with the thing for the sake of regimental honour. Built for our Bomber Command sig's tribute to the type at Telford this year. Once all the awful panel trenches and rivets were sanded out, (which took forever) then it became slightly more enjoyable......slightly. 1/72nd Whirlybird Westland Whirlwind HAR.10 (UN) multi-media kit. Another one for AMW. Lovely little kit of a great looking helo...just need a 1/48th or bigger now ! And finally a 1/72nd Airfix Vickers Valiant B.1 of 207 squadron, Marham 1964. Built for our Bomber Command sig as part of the ever expanding V-Force section. Again quite a bit of modifying went on here as there are several shape issues with parts of the kit...more variants in the pipeline..
