Here's my effort at the Amusing Hobby Conqueror Mk II.
I'm normally an aircraft modeller and this is my first completed AFV in about 25 years, so please go easy
I started this for the Big and British GB, but have only just got around to finishing it. I thoroughly enjoyed building the kit, there aren't too many pitfalls and it goes together pretty well. I liked the track links as they just click together, although they are prone to breaking apart when being handled.
I finished it with Xtracolor X815 Deep Bronze Green followed by a gloss coat. After this, a wash of AK Brown Earth Deposits was applied which toned it down a bit. Photos of Conquerors show a range of sheen from glossy to almost matt, so I've gone somewhere in between. I also added some MIG Europe Dust around the tracks and running gear, another new experience for me.
I've learned a few lessons along the way, the main one being to have as much assembled as possible before applying the weathering: there are a few sheen and dirtiness mismatches where parts were done separately. However, I also realised how cack-handed I am as I kept knocking bits off!
Anyway, thanks for looking and comments and constructive criticism are welcome
Mike
