Glad to see you back, the exhaust looks excellent. As though you've plucked it out of the photograph.

Looking good Val, you've inspired me to dig both of mine out of the pile of half finished kits!

Stunning little Vulcan!

How long was the paint on before you applied the decals? Is it possible the solvent in the paint has reacted with the decal if it was applied too soon after painting?

Im like Keith, I check in but don't tend to say much. I do appreciate the effort you put into keeping us updated and the hints and tips you provide us with. I can't wait to see more.

Roy, how do you manage to position and glue parts as small as those acorn nuts? I would have serious problems trying something that fiddly, the glue would be everywhere and the nuts would be all over the place.

I watched the million pound car last night a superb insight into Jaguar hand building a half dozen brand new lightweight,s only to hear a guy at the end
say they would,nt be allowed into the classic races because they were" replica,s" Im sure even the most demanding aviation fans would love to see
those new build Me 262 and Fw 190,s on the airshow scene!
didn't see much of it this year so enjoyed your photo's . The replica comment by Lord March was a bit silly i think, the car is made by Jaguar to modern standards and quality and is hand made, by his reasoning a lot of the cars at the weekend should't be included in the show, being a bit elitist, me thinks.
Totally agree with both statements. How can a car built by the same manufacturer to the same spec be classed as a replica? Its not like they bought a few old MR2's and slapped on some poorly made fibreglass body panels.

Wow, what a beauty. You have done a lovely job.
-
That looks great Roy, a model in itself. Almost seems a shame to fill it with foam! I can't wait to see how the panels come out.
-
I agree with Rogers comments and think it would look great as though it had just competed at Le Mans

I don't understand why kit manufacturers go to the effort of detailing parts that will end up spoilt by the ejector pins.
I have bought some HGW 1/48 decal rivets for when I get round to cleaning up the ejector marks from the undercarriage doors.

I started reading this without looking who the OP was. I thought that is very neat work and the attention to detail is amazing. Then I noticed who the OP is and it all made sense.
Another stunning build, can I borrow some of your skill please? Just so that I can complete at least one kit without feeling inadequate. 😀

I will be watching this with interest. Seeing Tom Proberts vac build has blown my mind. Can't wait to see yours taking shape.

I love the paint job, very effective. Shame about the cracks in the clear, the thing is you know they are there. Anyone else will be blown away by finish of the whole thing and won't notice them.

This is the most inspiring build I think I have ever seen.
How on earth you can turn something that I would have thrown into the bin a long time ago, into such a magnificent model is way beyond my skill set and comprehension.
I have enjoyed seeing how you have worked around the challenges put before you and the end result of lots of hard work.
Looking forward to seeing the end result.

Hey Tony
Sounds like you've had a right nightmare with your airbrush. I forgot to clean mine out once so I left it to soak overnight in cellulose thinners.
Looking forward to seeing your progress. Even with just the red on its looking nice. I might have to get me a Lightning.

I will be following this with interest as I have one of these on the go at the moment.
I bought the Heritage correction set which includes a replacement cockpit, jet pipe and gun muzzle section. However I found that there is no detail for the ejection seat rails in the cockpit so I splashed out on a Neomega pit and seat to use instead.
Have you noticed a lot of awkward to get at ejector pin marks? The flaps and undercarriage doors of mine have them slap bang in the middle of all the detail.

Looks great so far, have you got any further with it? Can't wait to see it painted up 😀

Looking great Rob, where did you get the drawings from? I could use a set as I am trying to convert the cyber hobby kit to having a conventional bomb bay rather than the Blue Steel bay. I need to know the profile of the underneath of the fuselage and also where the panel lines will need scribing. Any help would be appreciated 😀

I'm an ex-cadet as well, I did my AEF at RAF Woodvale and Gliding at Sealand. I got a few rides in the Chipmunk and a couple in the Bulldog. Many happy memories of being part of the cadets. My best flying memory was being up in a glider for almost an hour. The instructor got a right telling off, the flights where only supposed to last 20 minutes.

Sounds like a great plan, looking forward to this one!

Totally agree with K, I think they look great. Wish I could get a model to look as nice as them and the Lanc

This is one good looking Meteor, love the colour scheme.

This looks very interesting. I remember my Dad used to have a series of books that where plan forms of various aircraft with cross section views of the wings and fuselage. I always wanted to have a go at making something from them but forgot about it until I read this, I will have to ask him if he still has the books. You may have opened up a can of worms here Rob!

I love what your doing to create a B1, the attention to detail is spot on. Love how neat your work is too. Can't wait to see more of your progress.
Good luck with the band too!
