My latest in a line of aerobatic team builds. This Hasegawa's Skyhawk and finished straight out of the box. Sprayed in Vallejo Deep Sky and also has my first attempt with Pledge floor polish as a gloss coat. It seems to work very well.

I thought a family portrait might be called for here. Built over the last few years.

Thank folks. A gratuitous photo of the F-4J alongside one I built a year or two ago.

Thanks for taking the time to comment folks. On with the search for Fonderie Tiger...

Carrying on the Blue Angels theme, this is Hasegawa's F-4J. Not much to be said, pretty decent kit and finished with Vallejo Deep Sky and CAM PRO decals.

This one has been lurking for a long time and I think it's a very old Lindberg kit. It goes together quite well but not much in the way of detail. The decals were surprisingly good but as usual I struggled with the gloss finish. I hope one day someone will produce a decent kit of the Tiger. Interestng aeroplane.

Next up, my attempt at Trumpeter's F-100D. It's a fairly simple kit that didn't take long to put together. The metal finished I struggled with but ended up with Vallejo Steel and Aluminium. The decals fit well but crack and tear easily and it took three sessions to put the decals on. I used the kit's alternative markings to provide some repair patches. Anyway, here it is.

Another long-term stash lurker and a surprisingly easy kit to make. No cockpit, no decals, all parts painted before assembly and then stick together. Rigged with elastic thread. Such an important aircraft is poorly served by the modelling world. Only this kit and the expensive Hasegawa 1/16 scale kit seem to be around. Surely a modern 1/32 or 1/24 scale kit is long overdue?

Thanks for the comments folks, Much appreciated. Some F-14s look really badly weathered but the CAG aircraft were generaly pretty clean.

My latest effort. Not a particularly easy build with one two "challenging" areas. The landing gear bays being one of them. Finished in Vallejo light and dark ghost gray with decals from Mil-Spec depicting the CAG aircraft from VF-11 USS Carl Vinson.

I built the very old Revell kit in Don Gentile's Shangri-La P-51B many years ago so I wanted to have another go. This time based on the more modern Trumpeter kit. All in all a very good kit. I left the engine out which meant being a bit innovative with where to attach the exhausts. The model is finished in Hataka Neutral Gray and Olive Drab. The decals come from Kits-World.

Thanks folks. That was actually my third attempt at the colour scheme. The first two were ...er... less than successful.

A kit I bought a few years ago at Telford. Very nice kit, with lots of detail with excellent fit throughout. Finished in Hataka Night Black with the kit decals.

This is the Revell 1/48 Bf-110G-4 Nice kit overall with good detail. The landing gear was bit fiddly but that was the only bit I struggled with. Finished in Hataka RLM75 over 76.

Thanks folks. I used Vallejo Aluminium and Vallejo Steel. It was actually a major pain as the airbrush kept clogging , especially the steel colour. The black walkway line were masked and painted as well. It's an odd model to store as it's very wide but not very long.
-
A fairly quick build of a simple kit. It has pretty decent fit for a kit of its age. The only real issue was getting enough weight in the nose(?)
Astonishing to think this aircraft first flew in 1947 and has almost exactly the same wingspan as the B-2.z20200313_215253 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr

It's odd, I misted many coats (using about half a bottle!) but found it is still a little tacky even after 48hours. The only bit that peeled was bit of Maskol on the cockpit windows. From a colour point of view, I think it's a bit blue rather than a creamy white.

Thanks for the comments folks. Much appreciated.
Rather embarrassingly, the varnish is actually Vallejo gloss varnish. I'm OK getting flat finishes but struggle with gloss.
-
Yet another long-term stash lurker. This is a pretty decent kit and quite an enjoyable build. The only real problem I had was getting the two fuselage halves to fit. Possible muppetry on my part though. Finished in Vallejo white with the kit decals - sort of.

Not the easiest kit I've ever stuck together. It's a little over engineered in places. Finished in Vallejo acrylics and with the kit decals which were very good.
