  1. My mistake, interesting about the jacket though! Nice one thanks, will be sure to give it a look over. Cheers!
  2. Same, they looked pretty good right up until they got squished. Even had buckles! I probably will just stick to using tamiya tape in the future. Thanks all the same man!
  3. Thanks man! Maskol and white washing are a match made in heaven
  4. Hey guys, just an update on one of my latest builds. An Airfix Harrier GR1 in Norwegian winter camo colours. I've only seen a painting of a GR1 in winter camo and a small grainy picture on an Xtradecal sheet. It's not finished yet. I used the normal dark sea grey and green combo, then applied some maskol over the green then white washed over the green. The majority of the Harriers that I've seen in this colour scheme were GR3's - their whitewash in tatters. Still have to do the decaling (does anyone know if they would remark the stencil data on over the white wash? If you could let me know I'd be massively grateful!) I'm going to paint the roundels on, the dark blue of the roundel would look out of place I think, then just sticking the landing gear and rocket pods on! The Airfix kit is pretty good, very good at it's price point. The panel lines are crisp and it has good wheel well and cockpit detail. My only complaint about the kit is the edges of some parts are a little over rounded. So this leads to some nasty joins, namely the nose cone and the... thing sticking out the very back I have no idea what it's called. I'm reasonably happy with how it's turning out, only thing is that I made a harness out of greenstuff two part putty, I must have crushed it and not noticed, then it dried. It sort of looks like the pilot would have been held into his seat my an enormous sausage link. What do you's think? Anyone got any experience in snowy GR1's? Cheers!

    Hey guys!

Hey guys! Hope you're all well. Just started on here, although having watched for sometime. I'm currently a student, picking the hobby back up from my first couple airfix kits from when I was 7 or 8. Being a fair bit more engaged in it this time round. I plan to capture the process of my builds on camera. Uploading summaries on here and full builds onto Youtube. I find it helps me to plan the build more logically and efficiently if I'm planning the video of it simultaneously, it also just helps me avoid mistakes. I've uploaded a summary of a build of an SU-2 I recently completed here... with a couple shots of a near finished bird. I mostly like interwar through to cold war but I do dabble in anything with wings, primarily in 1/72 and 1/48. Enough rambling, hope to speak to many of you soon! Next couple of recorded builds in order of progression, so since that SU-2, I have a FW-190D9 in 1/72 by Tamiya awaiting nought but an antenna then it's complete, a Harrier GR1 in 1/72 by Airfix who's decals I'm tweaking to be from No.1 Squadron based in Norway, and I just got done wiping my SD card to start a MiG 21Bis in 1/72 by Zvezda bright and early tomorrow (If I'm even awake by noon it'll be a miracle. It's christmas break and I'm a student ok) As I said previously with the builds, I'll summarise on here and probably upload the full video to youtube (My account, very imaginatively named MURRODELS Currently empty but editing takes time, time I rather spend sticking plastic together (so I do, far more than I should) Enough rambling, hope to speak to many of you soon! Cheers!
  6. Hey guys! First post, I'm a relatively new member, although I have watched from the sidelines for some time. This was the first build I decided to document the process of, figured what better way than to just take videos of it. I'll be publishing the videos probably on Youtube. (If you're interested in seeing this particular full build video at some point, you'll be able to find it on MURRODELS (once I finish editing it), so be sure to sub if you don't want to miss it!) But I'll also be uploading them here. So back to the SU-2, its a great kit, falls together, except for the turret perspex. The cockpit is really quite visible through the canopy so if I was to do it again I would use a PE fret in there, also would consider an amended engine cowl which is missing ribbing, and a wheel well that has entirely too much ribbing! All in all, a good bit of fun! Cheers!
