I would like to ask you how the kit was built? Were there any problems setting up the model?
The kit went together well, I didn’t encounter any major problems. Like with all Takom kits the fit is good, the parts break down is well thought out without over complicating or over simplifying things. The instructions are clear and easy to follow as well.
Sometimes with Takom, where the part attaches to the sprue, it can be a large sprue gate and care is required when cutting pieces off the sprue itself. Also I noted once all together, the turret was a very tight fit and whilst it did have the traditional two lugs that fit into respective sockets (like a bayonet lightbulb) it was difficult to move the turret once in situ. Though that might just be my construction skills!

Hey all,
This is Takom's T-55AM2b. This project had resided for a good long while as a shelf queen before dusting it off whilst looking for something else. In that time I had managed to lose some of the running gear and the tracks for it!
One set of Miniart running gear and track from T-Rex later, I painted the vehicle using Mr. Colour and Tamiya Acrylics with some Humbrol Enamels as well. The model was then drybrushed and had filters/washes applied using oil paints. The decals were a combination of the kits offerings as well as some nicked off a Tamiya T-55 to make up the numbers. The kit only supplied the DDR Roundels otherwise.
The T-Rex Tracks were built straight out of the box with no need for any cleanup, just plug and play. I did dip the tips of the track pins in CA Glue however just to ensure they didn't come out again. The tracks were amazingly well detailed, my only slight criticism is that the material was slightly brittle and a number of links were broken straight out of the box. Thanks for looking!

Amazing example of the 234! The RLM colours look spot on and the sheen on the bird from your varnish looks spot on. A model to definitely be proud of!
I love the parachute packs on the RATO packs too, they sit so well.

Nice work Francis! The way you’ve broken up the otherwise monotone camouflage with weathering is impressive!

Very subtle weathering, looks really good. What did you use for the optical lens? It looks really effective.
I painted the lenses flat white to begin with, i then went over it with Tamiya Clear Green to get the effects.
Thanks everyone for your comments!

Let me add another piece of useless information: The characters known as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beagle_Boys
are called "Panzerknacker" (tank buster(s)) in the German translation.
I was wondering what the little guy was meant to represent! Thanks for the info

Hey All,
After having recently built Revell's 1/35 Kanonejagdpanzer, I was inspired to read up a bit more about the family and purchased Tankograd's publishing book on the subject. I also saw that Revell also produced the Jaguar I. It's been out of production for a while though so I managed to get a discounted kit on eBay luckily.
The kit is out of the box with the exception of the finishing details. The detail is not as prevailent or as refined as you would expect on a modern tooling but nonetheless this kit captures the look quite nicely out of the box. I painted the model using Tamiya Acrylics, Humbrol Enamels, Vallejo Acrylic weathering products as well as oil paints.
The camouflage netting is surgical gauze soaked in PVA with acrylic paint dissolved into it. It was wrung out and then positioned on the model in various places. The other stowage is from Tamiya's corresponding modern accessory set.
The Mud is my own mixture and was tinted using various acrylic paints. I weathered the exhaust using oils and pigments.
I took a couple of photos next to the kanone given the fact that they're based off the same lower hull, engine and running gear!
Thanks for looking!

Nice one! The Hungarians had some lovely markings for their aircraft, and they look really nice on an 88. Thanks for sharing!

I have this kit in the loft and those decals definitely do keep putting me off building one! That being said though you've done a beautiful job on yours, and with the photography and the trio, they make for a very impressive collection!

Good effort! 1/144 can always be a bit of a nightmare, even w/o the tail-down attitude it still looks good!

Nicely presented on that base! I've always liked the SPAD for all those louvres over the engine cowling. Your build is a very nice representation

That’s a lovely little model! The way the white star has been made to fit the complex contours of the turret is very impressive!

Lovely work, and to see it next to an earlier effort goes to show how far your skills have progressed.
I especially like the mud splatter down the side, and the subtle scraping. Really nicely done.

Excellent finish! This could be mistaken Jetmads new 1/48 offering if not told otherwise!
(the Vulcan is very nice too, maybe someone should tell Jetmads to do one of those in 48th too? )
