Thanks Guys I picked up another one yesterday and the Alley Cat SC9 conversion set for it. So that's another 2 PR9's in 72nd scale to build (1 Airfix and 1 Matchbox) plus my 4 x 48th scales ones.

Thanks Guys I wished I did have a big house, then I could build some of my larger aircraft models. These three sit on the shelf at the minute and the display base will only come out for shows. Ordered another 1/72nd scale PR9 to collect this Sunday along with the SC9 conversion kit from Alley Cat. Mind you, I have four more Canberra's in 1/48th scale waiting to be done (note to self, must stop buying kits!). Anyhow, if anyone is up at ModelKraft this weekend, these three will be there.

Hi all, sorry for not posting much recently, you know how things go at things go at times! Here is a project that is nearing completion, well, hopefully finished for this Sunday for ModelKraft. Those who follow me on Facebook, Twitter or my blog will be familiar with the project. For those that don't here is a brief run down. I first built XH135 two years ago, had the idea then to build XH134 and XH131 to complete the trio of 39 Sqdn's Canberra PR9's, the last three Canberra's in RAF service. This became a reality earlier this year after the purchase of two more Airfix PR9's along with the Retirement Scheme decals for XH134. The aircraft are completed and now I am finishing off the base and figures for on the aircraft and ground crew. Fingers crossed that the base is finished for Sunday. So here is a few photos for you to see.

Thank you. This was a fun project to do and I was not sure where it was going to end up. I just let the diorama evolve and develop into what can be seen here. Mick -

Looking good Ozz. I like to do something different on my dio's, try and add a little humour even if it's just a small thing. You will see this in my F-86 Sabre model which can be seen on my blog here. http://themechanicsmodellingworld.blogspot...e-finished.html I'm just waiting to pick up some tools at Duxford next week to finish off the scene. Well, after a year, I have finally got around to finishing this project. And the wait has been worth it for me. The kit is Eduard's in 1/48th scale that comes with the etch and paint masks. It is built straight out of the box with some weathering done to finish the model off. I took some quick photos of her, but I will get some good quality ones done for my website when I set up for a photo session in the workshop. There's a few models that i need to take photos of for the website. Please enjoy. Mick

Looking great. I've just started the Hasegawa version of this aircraft. Just doing the basic construction at the minute. Can't wait to see it finished. Mick

Hi all Some more work has been done to the Hellcat, I have now got some paint on it. Tonight I plan to get some Navy Blue onto the fuselage and wings. Futher details on the progress can be found here. http://themechanicsmodellingworld.blogspot...lcat-wip-2.html -
This is a project that's been on hold and I have decided to dust it off to get it completed. I'm going to try something different on the WIP by doing the updates on my blog and post links here when I add an update of the project. I don't know if it will work, but when you are members on several forums, you loose track of what you write and forget to update each one. Also this avoids the restrictions on the images sizes and amounts you can use. So here is the link for this installment of the Hellcat project. http://themechanicsmodellingworld.blogspot...lcat-wip-1.html

Just finished this one about a hour ago. The kit is by ICM, not a good kit, but not a bad one either. Some of the parts in the kit did not match up to what was shown on the instruction sheet, so I had to work my way around them. Also the decal sheet was different to the one for the schemes and marking in the instructions. The one that came with the kit matched the artwork on the box, so there was a guide for me to go by. I needed to use some filler in a few areas on the fuselage due to bad fitting and alignment. But with all the little problems with the kit, it came out okay in the end. It surprised me how big this bird is!

Oh yes..... Just been crawling over the workshop floor looking for a piece of my MiG that decided to go walkies....

Hi Andy & Andy Thanks guys, your comments taken. I didn't realise that the hatches were wrong. The photo that I saw must have been wrong as it was a preserved example. It won't take long to sort out as I've still got some painting and weathering left to do on it yet. The StuG has been put aside for a few days whilst I finish off the MiG-31 that's nearing completion. The figures still need to be painted for this one too and the MiniArt Russian Street stand built. The tracks are Dragons MagicTracks, a lot of cursing involved with them. Mick

Hi All Here's a project I've been working on since Telford. It's Dragon's Cyber Hobby Stug III kit with figures loading. More details of this build and other projects can be found on my Blog. The Mechanics Modelling World Here's a few photos for you to have a look at.

This was my last build completed in 2011, and it was done with a few hours to spare. The scene is set after "Desert Storm" has finished and the Americans are heading back home. The Bradley has been parked up in a compound waiting to be shipped back to the States. The commander is patting the hull and saying to his ride "See you back at home!" before catching his flight back. The kit is from Modelcraft in 1/35th, a basic kit that was previously motorised. I started this project to test out some new weathering techniques, salt weathering and oil paint weathering which I am pleased with the results for this first attempt. Unfortunately, there was not decals in the kit, so I had to find some decal sheet images on-line to download and edit them. The base was scratch-built with MDF, Plasticine, granite ballast and paint, a first using Plasticine for me as I did not have any other modelling clay to use at the time. The figure came with the kit, it is not that good compared to other manufacturer's examples, but it would do for this. I did modify the arms a little to get the pose right, though when standing alone, he does stand a bit like Larry Grayson! The Alice Packs are from Tamiya and the M231 rifle also came from the Bradley kit. I hope that you enjoy this one, it came out better then I thought.
