FAA Phantom FG1

Hi, guys!

I am looking for good detailed pictures (walkarounds) of british Royal Navy Phantoms.

Can anyone point me to a place where it can be found?

Thank you

Sergey

The Royal Navy "lost" their Phantoms in 1978 (probably pre-dating "walkarounds"!) when they were transferred to the RAF (43 and 111 Sqns). AFAIK there is only one "Royal Navy" FG1 left and thats in the FAA Museum in Yeovilton. There maybe a walk around of that particular aircraft though Lighting on the "Flightdeck Experience" isn't that great - so pictures may not be that great!

There are though some good publications regarding the FG1 and in RAF squadron service in particular...Verlinen's Lock On No 10, Aeroguide 13, Phantom Squadrons of the RAF & FAA by Richard Ward, etc., etc.,

probably too exhaustive a list to reproduce here.

A lot depends on what you actually want. Most internal cockpit details on RAF FG1's were the same as on FAA FG1's and certainly there as an awful lot of commonality between the FG1 and FGR2 externally and in the pilots 'pit - of which there are some walkarounds on line - with detailed pictures.

Do a Google search for "FAA FG1", "RAF/RN Phantom" or similar and see what you come up with!
