Well, since I seem to be totally incapable of keeping my number of builds down, I'm going to throw my 1:32 Mosquito in with the rest of them that have been popping up in the last month or so. Only thing is, Tamiya and HKM kits are rather expensive, so I have a slightly less state of the art starting point: Mr. Revell's old release mosquito mk.IV. The base kit is rather basic, so I've had to do some scratch building. I'm ok with this because I quite enjoy it. This is an overall view of it after a couple of hours of modifications. As you can see, there has been a rather lot of scratch building. First major item: a new pilot's seat As you can see, I tried to modify the kit seat, but there ended up being too many problems with it. Another major change is the instrument panel This has had a lot of work put into it. -old detail removed -each dial drilled -aluminum tape applied to the back of the panel, then pushed partway back through the holes -future placed in holes to remove stickiness -extension school arch built with card I also made some fairly extensive mods to the cockpit floor. This extra detailing included: -aluminum tape hatch with detail embossed into it -extensions and Gap filling made out of card, then gaps filled and sanded -flares and racks built with a combination of card, wood rod and aluminum tape -seat cushions made from balsa (will get a dunk in white glue) -creating the rear shelf and bulkhead that are left out of the kit from catd(in the background) This last picture shows both the shelves bulkheads mentioned above and also the start of a scratch built radio rack. That's it for the first work session, there should be more in the next couple of days. Let me know what you think Btw, the references that I've been using are a build on the modelling news by the man behind scalespot.com of the HKM kit and georgeusa's excellent build of the 1:24 fighter version posted on here. Cheers, K
