Okey,
So as I said in the post in modern discussion, this will be my first modern jet. Ever.
So I'm a bit worried.
So far, the thing I've been told to remember are:
-Nose weight
-seams (espescially intakes)
-cockpit
If anyone else has anything else for me to watch out for, feel free to chip in.
So, this is the italeri 1:48 F-16C Barak kit, I don't know if it's a rebox or not, but it looks pretty nice to me.
Couple of possible issues I've noticed.
-8 different pieces for the exhaust
-looks like a lot of parts made for different versions.
-canopy has a seam in it
Anyway, here's what I've done so far:
Chopped out all the cockpit bits for the first step.
I'm pretty much following the sequence of the instructions since I'm not exactly sure what in doing.
Those parts build into a fairly nice tub.
I should have waited to glue in the IP
Because it got in the way during painting
In the background, you can see the start of the main wheel bay
Then detail painting was done
I really hate macro photography. This looks allright in real life, but the photo looks like crap.
This photo look allright.
That's just the base painting. A little weathering and such will come later.
Also built up the seat(s), even though the instructions have it 5 or so pages later
I built both because the kit supplies 2 and I'll pick whichever I like better.
Also started work on the intakes.
This is going to take a while.
Last thing I did was build up the tail.
I guess I'm not really following the instructions after all.
Anyway, that was the first couple of days, so updates will be smaller after this. I tend to build very slow, so this could be a long-ish build.
Cheers,
K
