I postulated that the Sparrowhawk would be powered by a 32,000 lb dry thrust variant of the Spey. I have read and reread Tony Buttlers' excellent BSP: Jet Fighters Since 1950, this gave me a lot of inspiration. I agree that BAe certainly missed out on a good idea. But was the political will, an interest from the RAF of even as export machine.
I considered the possibility of a point defence interceptor, or a fighter escort for regular GR3s.
The wings were from a Revell Harrier GR5, the fuselage was from an Xtrakit SHAR FA2. I do still have another kit to build so I'm looking for inspiration.
