Spitfire fan

I postulated that the Sparrowhawk would be powered by a 32,000 lb dry thrust variant of the Spey. I have read and reread Tony Buttlers' excellent BSP: Jet Fighters Since 1950, this gave me a lot of inspiration. I agree that BAe certainly missed out on a good idea. But was the political will, an interest from the RAF of even as export machine. I considered the possibility of a point defence interceptor, or a fighter escort for regular GR3s. The wings were from a Revell Harrier GR5, the fuselage was from an Xtrakit SHAR FA2. I do still have another kit to build so I'm looking for inspiration. Thanks for the comments. SF

This is the first what if build I have ever attempted. I am a member of the What If forums, so I thought I'd put this here. This was for a sub-thread of The Empires Twilight, hopefully there will be a few more added the thread. This aircraft was placed in the thread entitled Between The Lines. I have not built a model for the past 27 years so this was a rediscovery of my skill set (or lack thereof). Comments, criticisms and suggestions eagerly sought. Regards SF
