MDriskill
Apologies in advance as I've already posted this question on the military interwar forum...but does anyone know of a source for the "C A Tommy Atkins" line of white metal aircraft kits? A friend is particularly interested in finding the Gloster IV Schneider Trophy racer. Many thanks. Edited August 7, 2011 by MDriskill
Spitfire31
Apologies in advance as I've already posted this question on the military interwar forum...but does anyone know of a source for the "C A Tommy Atkins" line of white metal aircraft kits? A friend is particularly interested in finding the Gloster IV Schneider Trophy racer. Many thanks. An (undated) pdf review article of 'Tommy' Atkins' 1922 Navy-Wright NW-1 racer gives his then (whenever 'then' was) physical address as: C. A. Atkins 17 Ashbourne Avenue Bridlington YO16 4PE UK That's all I can find, I'm afraid. I suppose it's a vain hope that someone might be given access to Mr. Atkins' masters and produce a range of them in resin? They were excellent little kits; I've still got the Atkins Spitfire and Hurricane prototypes in my stash (somewhere). /Joachim P.S. If you manage to locate Mr. Atkins, please share the knowledge with us! Edited August 7, 2011 by Spitfire31
marty_hopkirk
I bought his quarter scale Invader, but that was way back in '87 or '88. I can't help thinking that production stopped a while back - but who knows. Marty...
