Right then, here we go, Supermarine Attacker FB.1 WA533, 115/LM of 736 NAS, 1954.

The kit is the Magna Models 1/72 resin jobby, which is pretty rough - I had problems with the resin collapsing into holes and flaking off when being sanded. The panel lines are, it turns out, in the wrong places a lot of the time, and mismatched from one fuselage half to the other. The accompanying white metal was mostly useless, and I had to find wheels from the spares box and make the cannons and arrestor hook out of plastic rod. I bought an Airwaves photo etched detailing set which turned out to be another disappointing set, with useless gear bay roofs (fictional detail, wrong shape), gear doors that had to be cut to the right shape (and again, fictional detail), a fairly decent cockpit (though I had trouble fitting it into the space available), useless wing pylons and rocket rails (in PE?! far too thin!). I didn't use the wing fold detail. The kit's canopy was useless so I bought an Aeroclub replacement, which was similarly useless (indeed, nearly identical). Thankfully Falcon's FAA canopy set came to the rescue with a perfectly clear and nicely detailed Mk.1 canopy. Decals are, with the exception of the upper wing roundels, home made. Having taken the pics I realise I'd forgotten to replaced the lower wing roundels with better printed ones.

Overall I'm pleased to finally have an Attacker on display but the quality of Magna's surface detail, white metal and dubious accuracy (cockpit seems to far back to me) was disappointing.

Build thread is here. On with the pics...

Nice build, I like the look of the Attacker, a weird hybrid really from piston to jet. A good addition to the display shelf I'd say.

Love it, nice one Damien :clap2:

Lovely build of what I think is a rather cute little aircraft; it only gets ugly with the belly tank on!
