tonyp Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Hi Dave, I have that kit and the decals as well for the Mk.8. What is the aftermarket behind the airwaves cockpit set? Also, what is the list of mods required for this build? Look forward to seeing further progress. Thanks Tony
Dave Fleming Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 I notice the Hobbyboss Lynx will have decals for those markings as well!! http://hobbyboss.com/87237.htm
merlin101 Posted January 7, 2009 Author Posted January 7, 2009 Fuselarge together, started sorting out the side doors by filling bottom area as kit parts too big! Dave
AnonymousDFB1 Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Ohh watching this one I love that artwork.
merlin101 Posted January 12, 2009 Author Posted January 12, 2009 update-- side doors fitted, new door runners scratchbuilt & lower intake/grill on tail added...... Dave
merlin101 Posted January 19, 2009 Author Posted January 19, 2009 another update. Finished front screen, side doors & various other details. Now working on the exhaust's, kit ones are too small & wrong angles, so made 'holes' smaller & found some plastic tubing (see pics) which will be cut down to size! Anyone building this years MK3 a/c, note it has new side code of 631 NOT 635 as per last year, serial remains same! Dave
MerlinJon Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Hi Dave I am currently doing the same project as you at the moment, I have just applied the cat to one side and the decals are very good apart from the colouring. The lighter grey of the cat is a pale shade of blue on the decals, below is a pic of the exhaust area which might be of help to you. Jon
merlin101 Posted January 19, 2009 Author Posted January 19, 2009 thanks for the pic Jon, mine will have covers fitted! The decals fit ok? Dave
MerlinJon Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Dave The decals fit fine they just needed a bit of decal solution to get them to lay over the door rails etc. Jon
merlin101 Posted January 21, 2009 Author Posted January 21, 2009 using foil, blanks on intakes & exhausts added, along with floatation on sponsons. Painting to come soon! Dave
MerlinJon Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Hi Dave Sorry for the delay but this is how she stands at the moment, I have an idea about the intsake guards but if that does not work I will make some FOD covers out of masking tape. Yours is looking good by the way, lokking forward to seeing it finished. Jon
merlin101 Posted January 22, 2009 Author Posted January 22, 2009 looking good Jon, mines just about to go into the paint shop! Dave
